Not surprised, you're disappearing under what looks like >25mm rain/hour on the radar! Mind your coat.

Yep, absolutely crazy here too. No thunder but the rain is awesome.

So close for many of us! 21:45 lightning map - would have been nice to see as it’s dark!

Looks as though the risk goes on into the night/early hours - lots going on to the South.

>125mm/hr rain rates according to netweather radar - my garage isn't far off being flooded and looks like a night of persistent heavy rain to come at least. It should drain away though so I think the garage will be OK unless we get some storms later.

Wife thinks I'm mad because I just walked outside in it.. 😀

The smell in the air reminds me of when I was in Florida during a thunderstorm 🙂

It certainly is! I should have brought my inflatable kayak with me to work so I can get home tonight 😂 The streets are like rivers.

Well that was intense! Absolutely lashing down for 10 minutes.

Edit: back on again - torrential!

I think some of us will be waking up during the night/early hours with more of that!

Tomorrow looks good - warm, sunny and the risk of thunderstorms for many.  Outlook after that is all a bit meh...

Once the warmth and thunderstorms are gone...I’ll be ready for some of this...⛄

Spot on mate except it wasn’t Larkhall or Lanark - lived in Croftfoot. (Glory days and you are correct those are from the BFTE)

Back in the days I didn’t need to climb local hills between 100 and 200 meters for my snow fix! 😂

My son was born on February 27th at 23:00pm just as the BFTE kicked off.

Remember taking the first picture of him in the early hours of the morning (28th) - then I got a taxi home at 5am and the motorway was grinding to a halt.

Went to bed after being up for two days - woke up 16:45 to this view!

My son was born on February 28th 2018 at 23:00pm as it all kicked off...so that means I always have an excuse in later life to bring it up! 😂

My youngest was born first week of Jan 2010 as a blizzard raged outside. i remember as the midwife placed him in my arms i took him to the window (only fools and horses style) and said "son this is snaw you will grow to love this stuff just like me" . and at that point the next generation of snaw mad folk began...lol

Rain off here I think.  I doubt we'll get any thunder tomorrow.  Hopefully it stays sunny.

We've gone from 90mm over three weeks which was wet but not too bad to 90mm in one week which is now feeling a lot soggy. We'll probably get another 15mm today by the looks of it. At least the sunrise was pretty although I should have done a panorama:

Quite misty with fog patches here presently, and barely any wind. Showers in the forecast for later but I don't think anything thundery - we shall see.

chucking it down here ⛈️

Reached here shortly afterwards. Torrential rain but didn’t last very long. Two fairly close lightning strikes also.

Dull and damp feeling this morning.

There's enough convection to suggest plenty of interest later on today. This afternoon looks very tasty for some thunderstorms for many of us.

This is the view from the top of the stairs in the house, although the 1st pic is the cut out the crud version:

This must rank right up there as one of the wettest 15 hours I’ve ever had here.

50mm or more has fallen, on and off all night and since I woke about 8am it has never once stopped.

Proper heavy rain, you can’t even walk to the car 10 feet away without feeling soaked.

The rain just feels stuck over us, radar seems to suggest it will eventually move away but maybe not for another hour

Another day of a brilliant convective sky in our new tropical Scotland! 😀

No thunder or lightning unfortunately but I was happy enough with what arrived.

22c, plenty of sunshine and torrential downpours breaking out all around me and overhead.

It has been a memorable spell for here - pretty relentless since July 31 regarding convection.

Not looking forward to Autumn arriving tomorrow! ☹️
