Another clear frosty start to the day, I've now lost count of how many that's been this month. Very different from what many of our more southerly cousins have been experiencing.

It really has been an incredible spell of weather - going back to the second last week of October here.

Driest, least stormy (gales/severe gales) coldest and sunniest November (so far) in a long time for this location. (Be interesting to see the Metoffice stats at the end of the month)
Just keeps on going - cold and sunny today and then Monday and Tuesday are baltic yet again/well below average temperatures continue.

@CatchMyDrift

I was in the co-op earlier and there was father showing his toddler boy the xmas goodies. Nearly 20 years since I last had the fun of doing that - anyone out there who has wee children now, just enjoy the time cos it doesn't last.

I second this, my two youngest are 11 & 12 and I'm already reminiscing about Christmases past when they believed in Santa

What a stunning start to the day. and it finally looks like we may get a few dry days on the trot. over in the mad house still no real sign of winter roaring to life so i expect a major snaw event could be some time off but you never know in this game as things change very quickly.

Incredibly foggy morning up here at 2.1C. No frost. A quiet week ahead so maybe more on the way.

Been a long time since I had fish & chips at the seaside... dad's family came from Ainster Kirkcaldy Weather, spent a lot of school hols in Fife.

Here's one from a family holiday in Fife - Elie. I think that I was just about reaching my third birthday, and don't have any memories at all of this paricular hol.

Apparently, so I'm told, I fell off a donkey and sustained a greenstick fracture of my left arm - just as well I can't recollect.

I've cropped out the older family members from respect, as one was very ill after being a Japanese POW and others apart from me and another two have passed on.

It's funny though, looking back at the pic, and how times have changed,  all the men were actually wearing white shirts, collars and ties with rolled up flannels amd bare feet in the sand.

The one on the left has his eyes on the snow capped hills in the distance, you have him trained well to be on the lookout for snow at any given opportunity

Great spell of weather at the moment - well for past 3/4 weeks! Quite a contrast to some areas doon south. Figures at end of month will interesting. Cracking photos there, what did you use to take these photos - not much of a tech guy so unsure if the phones would capture clear photos especially one with the hawf moon!

I have noticed over the past few days that clouds have seemed  to form in well defined 'lines' ( some of CMD's pics show that too) and then spread out. I thought they were contrails initially.

An enjoyable day spent hiking around the Coreen hills. Picture, I think, is from Black Hill looking west towards the eastern cairngorms. A chilly day with temperatures around 0C, although noticeably warmer at the peaks.

The Coreen Hills is a new name/location for me. Looks nice.

Back to weather, while a sunny day with little wind, it feels bitterly cold. -1C on leaving home earlier around 8am, then -3C at Montrose Station.

Oddly enough, the temp in Aberdeen was +5C, according to the taxi sensor - I was ripped off by the driver, however. :oldangry:. Having confirmed that he accepted card payment, and some minutes into the journey he announced there would be a minimum charge of £7.50. I could have walked the short distance but was running late-ish - and it's uphill.

I'm not sure Taxis can enforce a minimum charge if paying by card. I know shops can no longer demand a minimum spend if paying by debit card.
