The GFS has chopped and changed the week's forecast so who knows? The 12z is coming up now so we can see what the latest guess is lol

Looking like rain and hill snow for Central England on Wed. Pretty dry here but these things rarely move back North once being forecasted togo further South (I think).

At one point the GFS was forecasting heavy rain/snow for Scotland but it's now forecast to be dry. And yes, it seldom comes back north once it drops south.

Keeps us on the colder side of the jetstream though, so just got to wait and hope. Something is afoot, latest GFS has a low pressure, albeit in FI, heading towards northern Scotland from Norway. That's not normal November weather, if it verifies. Click on the picture below.

A chilly walk today in Mullach Wood – OC there under clearish skies and no appreciable wind. As it gradually clouded over later in the afternoon, the temp rose to 2C. The decrease in daylight was particularly noticeable for some reason today, with gloom pervading around 15:30.

Three of the Nine Stanes of Mullach:

The stone circle site looked very unloved due to major forest operations all around and a tatty information notice. Hope the Forestry Commission have urgent plans to re-forest all the scarred hillsides with native trees.

Now looking even further South but we will be in a cold North/North Easterly towards the end of the week so not all bad.

Another cracking winter's day, three weeks early....

Overnight low of -4.8c and again plenty of hoar frost first thing.  Things warmed up a bit quicker today as most of the frost gone by noon expect those areas in deep shade which never thawed out.

Max of 4.5c in calm winds and with plenty of sunshine feeling very pleasant outside, as long as the winter jacket was on!

Unusual sight at dusk with a mixed flock of about a dozen Fieldfares and Mistle Thrushes descending on one of the rowans to eat what berries were left (starlings nearly stripped the tree clean last weekend).

Sleet has just started here, looks like rain out of the window down stairs but definite sleet on the velux window. Hopefully we'll get a brief change to snow as it gets heavier but not expecting any snow here tonight!

Evening all!

Lots of snowfall to a modest level currently - after midnight retreating to the higher hills/mountains.

Pishing doon here but looking forward to seeing the hills/mountains at sunrise.

I am still getting that November/December 2010 feeling...

All the best for tonight if you are a snow lover living at about 200/300 meters above sea level! :santa-emoji:

2c and wet snow falling just now. So glad all cattle are housed, cold air will help stop them sweating too much and getting pneumonia in the sheds. Just wintering sheep outside  now but they have wool coats and with all the extra grass we had this autumn they are pretty fat as well so can stand some hard weather.

What a change in temperature! 7.3c this morning, up by 10 degrees since yesterday morning. Shocker! As for the snow that was forecast for last night......  Nah! Didnae happen. No there's a surprise! Did manage a walk along the shore with friend and her doggie. A wee bit nippy as the wind had got up, but lovely nevertheless.

Morning all!

Wild here this morning! 40 mph gusts, very choppy out on the water, feels like temperature of 1c and when the hills/mountains cleared for about 60 seconds I could make out the snowline starting at roughly 450 meters - good cover above. (Hopefully get some pictures later - heavy showers rattling through currently)

Have a good day!

Early drive down south this morning and the snow level is down to about 900ft through the southern uplands, with snow still on lane 3 of the M74 at about 1000ft above sea level. It had been cleared and it was sleeting but still a few patches on the road.

A covering of the white stuff here overnight. Started as sleet around half 8 last night and turned to wet snaw as it became heavier. Mostly all melted now but still chilly oot. Currently 2.3°C/3°C.
