Looks like the heavy machinery has already visited!

Lashing down in the wee small hours. Was weirdly nice to hear - been at least a week!

Horrid start to the month.

Rain/drizzle all day with thick fog covering all of the surrounding hills.

Light winds, and milder of late with a max of 9.5c.

Interesting to see that the rain radar did not pick up the very fine drizzle that has been falling here the last few hours.

LOL, I do have a couple of mini lakes in the garden.

This morning again, dismal, low cloud, mist and hardly a breath of wind - not too cold tho' - around 10C.

Similar here, misty with constant light rain but certainly not the heavy rain I expected/was forecast.

Looks like it'll be cooling down again, especially the second half of the coming week.

24 hours rain here now and looks like we have it for the next three days so rivers will just keep on rising. Fields waterlogged. Very misty but not too cold at 11c so cows and calves still out on full winter diet as bringing   the calves in carries a big pneumonia risk.      Waiting for colder dryer weather to bring them in

Yes two days of NE winds driving the rain onshore to us still about 9c this morning. Quite unusual to have these winds so early. Are we heading for an early start to winter?

Low pressures seem to be travelling further south than usual, heading into south-western Europe. Hence the eastern winds over Scotland that remains to the north of the depressions. Unfortunately not pulling in much cold air, just lashing rain for eastern areas. Still seeing many sub zero 850 temps in the runs which isn't too bad for November.

Mild-ish (11C) - the early morning breeze has dropped and now sunshine and showers is the order of the day

It will feel more like December than November over the next 10 days. Ensembles for Edinburgh. And yes, a chance of snow if the easterly winds manage to pull in some even colder air from Scandinavia.

Unfortunately, Metoffice and bbc are predicting a return to south-westerlies by the end of november and above average temperatures

48 hours of rain and fields are waterlogged and rivers steadily rising. Still not too cold at 8.5c. Absolutely no field work this week untill it stops for at least two days. We will really need a frosty spell after this to help the drying process.
