A day of sunshine, showers and gusty wind, location dependent over a relatively small area. Mallaig was uncomfortably blowy and cold while Sunart was calm and pleasant.  The doggie stroll on the sandy beaches north of Arisaig was fine. Daytime temps varied from 5C to 10C.

Sunshine and cloud today with the odd very light shower. looks like the hills will see some snaw this weekend. in other news Mrs Big Snow came home from Aldi with Parmaviolet colour changing gin...strangest thing ive ever seen. taste good. oh and only £9.99 for the bottle.

Parma Violet colour changing gin sounds cool - hope it tastes good!

I much prefer these colours mate...mon the snow/sleet! :santa-emoji:

Hoping some of those showers head for that big red circle on the radar!  (Bit too soon for lamppost watching on low ground so I’m on pre Winter hill/mountain watch for that first hint of white! ❄️)

Colour changing radar!!! oh and yes the gin is very good. i may stagger down for a 2nd bottle... Mrs Big Snow has drank half the bottle already... im hoping to see some snaw on the hills out back over the weekend.. and then once safely returned to my old new house next week im hoping for a long cold hard winter.

Great stuff there @Northern Strath - can always count on you to deliver the snow pics at that elevation in the Highlands! (Very jealous! )

Snow/sleet showers have been skimming the Arrochar Alps through the night/morning so hopefully when it’s light enough I will be able to see a wee dusting at least!

Well there was a hint of white...frost by the looks of it - not counting that as a wee dusting! 
The heaviest snow showers passing just a bit too far North but hopefully that will change in a few hours/tomorrow.

That would be a major snow event down here schools would be shut and transport in chaos

This photo from near Kenmore this morning shows the snow line on Meall Greigh at roughly 1500 feet.

Another bright start to the day, although looking as if it might be clouding over from the south. Cool feeling, especially so in the brisk wind. Wife went to Huntly and back this morning and says there is/was a smattering of snow at road level on the hill behind the house (around 380m).
