Unusually grey and cloudy day here compared to recently, with a bit of light rain thrown in too. A completely 'inside' type day, a welcome rest from the garden jobs.

Well not much overhead today but some nice stuff around to my North West, North and North East.

Looking North West to the Cowal Peninsula. (Girlfriend and son but I had to ask them to move to the far right so I could get a good picture of the real reason for taking it in the first place )

Looking North to the Arrochar Alps and Lomond Hills. (Radar was showing quite a few lightning strikes over there but I missed it all)

Last but not least once again looking North West to the Cowal Peninsula. (Thought for a second a waterspout was going to appear   but looks like low hanging cloud!)

So not a bad way to end what has been a very warm, sunny and exceptionally stormy week!

Cheers mate!

That would be great but my own preference would be snow chaser! ??⛄

Tell you what though the bar has been raised for Scottish Summer’s for me - if I don’t get at least 7 days of thunderstorms next Summer and endless days over 20c I am going to be ranting in the moaning thread!

@bigsnow you need to speed up that relocation mate - Crieff sounds like hell from what you have been posting!

Hopefully if you are still there in Winter it delivers big time - snowfall wise!

@chemikal great pictures earlier - never been to see the Kelpies and I totally agree about seeing more places in Scotland! I have always went overseas for holidays. (Apart from my annual Winter Aviemore trip)

It’s definitely time for me to explore more of Scotland!

Not long now  :santa-emoji:cfs-0-2484.thumb.png.876dcb899fe844e4ac936c03f2c45658.png  cfs-0-2658.thumb.png.d9a059da5823fdfd9c8de824f228d516.png

I was just thinking probably the most consecutive months in a year that I have had thunder (April,May,June,July and now August) wonder how many more? and still have my theory that the firth of forth is somehow intensifying these storms like the cells today also appeared to be doing.

Today...it felt quite warm and humid so had high hopes of some fireworks this afternoon,  all we got were a few rumbles and a splash of rain again it all came to nothing, I had a look on the radar and there seemed to be plenty around just none arrived here.

Aye, though my phone had gone mad earlier (MetO app), but on checking I'm under thunderstorm warnings for the next 3 days. Of course you know what that will most likely result in .... disappointment. .

you couldn't make it up. the radar was full of heavy rain signals and as it approached Crieff it split and went around me, as soon as it had done so it came back together again. seriously i'm done with it poxy rubbish its been. out of 7 warnings iv'e had 1 rumble that might of even been a lorry going past.

Usually live in  one of the driest areas of Scotland but since mid May we have had only four two consecutive dry day periods suitable for making hay or silage and we used every one to secure fodder. Now looking for another two day dry period to secure second cut silage which will amost produce as much as the first cut Perfect weather of heat/rain and sun plus of course lashings of CO2 has given amazing regrowth.Neeps although sown a month late have caught up at speed and are now filling the drills with their leaves. Price of  round bale hay or silage has dropped to almost nothing with such vast quantities being made. Currently wet and 20c
