I thought I just heard a distant bit of thunder very big cloud rolling in

taking it's time to come in this but looks very very intense on radar albeit very brief

I really need to move. Crieff is like the Bermuda Triangle of weather. i must have really jaffa cakesed the weather gods off at some point. also i'm gonna ask this just to make sure i'm not completely mental. any dog owners in here that do a voice for their dog? the wife thinks iv'e lost the plot as ever since our puppy came home 4 weeks ago iv'e been her voice. the kids think it's the funniest thing ever but the wife thinks i'm mental.

It is absolute bonkers just how consistently warm the temperatures are and how many thunderstorms, funnel clouds and torrential downpours some of us have had. 

23c again here today and the sky was full of fun once more - tomorrow it’s 20c (add a degree or two to that) and an even bigger threat of storms.

That’s now three out of the last four days for convective heaven here and tomorrow to come.

Even from Monday to Wednesday the risk is there for many of us and it’s still warm! 

This Summer is becoming my all time favourite!

My storm risk map for tomorrow   could be a bit of a messy one tomorrow with a large area at risk, unlikely that all areas in the zones will see storms but looks like the main risks will again be frequent lightning and intense rain giving a chance of flooding with a front moving in from the south west meeting the quite high amounts of CAPE in place (also possibly troughs ahead of the front) smaller orange zone is due to only 2 of the models I look at showing the risk for a possible bigger storm developing somewhere in the north of England sometime tomorrow night and moving north west possibly affecting more eastern areas although could end up failing to develop or ending up in the north sea.

once again its all died out before making it this far. i give up on this rubbish summer. bring on winter i say. probably bloody miss out then as well.

Good morning all!

16c and heavy rain at the moment.

Once this clears through the sun should appear for a bit of daytime heating and then hopefully thunderstorms in the afternoon/early evening!

Looks as though they could pop up anywhere! Heading out later if anything exciting appears on the radar/sky clears. 

Metoffice have just updated our impacts to medium.

Exciting day ahead - hopefully!

Lightning showing in the past hour.

Sun has been making an appearance briefly here but there is too much low cloud hanging about for me to see anything! 20c currently and feeling very muggy.

Back out again later if it clears - should be fun and games for some of us later.

Had a few showers here but nothing too heavy. Very warm & muggy.

A couple of friends are on holiday in Glasgow from Germany at the moment. They are based in Glasgow and are going on day trips from there. Decided to take then on a road trip yesterday to take in some places that are a wee bit more awkward for them to get to. Decided to head east as the weather forecast was better and it was the right decision.

First stop was The Kelpies in Falkirk. We have driven by them on several occasions but have never stopped. Glad we made the effort as they are quite spectacular up close. Would love to hear what they sound like on a really windy day with the wind rushing through them.

Then onto South Queensfarry to take in the bridges over the Forth. Never tire of seeing these bridges.

Last stop of the day was North Berwick which was lovely in the sun. Had some fish & chips in a pub then down the beach with an ice cream. Sat watching folk jumping off the harbour wall into the sea and loads of happy dogs playing and one drinking the water.

A great day out and we need to make the effort to visit more places in Scotland. Our friends had a great day and as we left North Berwick they said when they come back to Scotland they will come back to North Berwick for a couple of days.

constant loud rumbles still ongoing sounds like a nasty storm, no lightning visible

Looks like we are starting to 'cook our own' now.  Lots of cells developing around Catch's area and moving up.

We have had steady rain here for the last 45 mins which has just started to intensify and I am hearing very low rumbles of thunder in the distance.

Usually, when the hill on the web cam starts to disappear, there is something incoming!

Not much going on here to get excited about - thought I heard a distant rumble but it was just someone bringing a bin in!

Cowal Peninsula and Argyll hills to my North West/North.

@Kirkcaldy Weather have you had a view of this? Maybe a bit too far North East for you to see.

Looks insane for the past hour!

@Norrance Will have a good view currently or very shortly?

You'll get a storm when you least expect it. We've had days of thunderstorm warnings but not a thing. Yesterday was an outside chance with no warning and we got a pretty decent storm.

 

If in doubt go storm chasing, that'll properly make you gutted at every UK storm!

i wonder what that stuff over northern england will do. looks to me like its heading north.
