Can see big storm clouds SE of East Kilbride. Otherwise still sunny evening here and perfect for an outside drink.

I've got a similar view. Possibly the largest anvil I've ever seen and I think I can see what appears to be mamautus clouds. No lightning or thunder.

Was just bringing in the washing and we seem to be under edge of what you are seeing. (Ignore my neighbours paintwork)

Driving home after work at 5pm the temperature was mostly 30 Deg C - 27 Deg C

However on the M9 passing Grangemouth it was reading 34 Deg C, so to experience this heat I turned off the air con and opened the windae and it felt like when ye step aff the plane on yer holidays!

Thunder has been banging aboot mostly tae the East of here, Kelty direction and beyond!

We're in South West France, in a tent, under the red bit.

Warmest day of the year (so far) here today with a high of 26.3°C. Muggy but also a decent breeze this arvo.

We've had the odd distant rumble of thunder over the past hour and then just in the last few mins, a couple that were appreciably louder and nearer.

Bring it on! ⚡⛈️⚡⛈️?️

Nope. Worst (or best) seems to have gone passed to my West with some also out to sea. Very dark again to the South right now though.

looked like 2 cells on top of/near Dundee on the radar with intense hail cores, still hoping for something to develop but so far been disappointing here given the setup, maybe something during darkness as the cold front approaches from the west

Those cells fair rattled through here, however just seemed to die as they passed. A few cloud to ground strikes, a few minutes of intense rainfall and loss of Internet for a while.

Ah, so we can sustain our false hope for a few more hours?

:oldlaugh: not every forecast will go to plan (and I dont claim to be an expert and think I have done reasonably well with my other forecasts so far this summer) the only reason I can think might have stopped / killed off the storms is the slight east flow that has been present through today which I have seen happen many a time here, yes thats right Kirkcaldy has not always been a thunderstorm hot spot :oldrofl: when I watched the radar and saw that supercellular storm moving up towards us I though to myself "this will be @CatchMyDrift's thunderstorm finally"

Around 7pm started to hear thunder from the south then we had rain. Lasted half an hour then all went quiet.

Storms are so hit and miss too, a few miles one way or another is the difference between storm of the century and nothing.

Bit like all of us chasing snow in Winter - ah the ups and downs of being a weather enthusiast!

@Kirkcaldy Weather check out the webcams down in the South East of England.

I came home this afternoon - temps on the way were 27C in Huntly, then 29C to 31C between Fochabers and Forres, sorry Nairn was under a cloud at 23C, and home was 28C when I got here and is dropping through 25C just now. Magnificent orange sunset a few minutes ago.

Yeah - was watching that.

Hopefully they perk up a bit - not much lightning on them.

Dare I say they are heading for Edinburgh/Kirkcaldy currently.

What a horrible sticky day...leaving work at 16:00 the cars temp readout was 30deg/C on the road between Dunfermline and Kingseat, seeing the forecast for rain / thunderstorms around 20:00 I was hoping for a good light show but all that happened was a bit of rumbling and a flash at around 20:30 and it lashed doon for a few minutes only.

All very disappointing..!!!

Just had look outside at 22:30 clear sky’s its all very still and 22deg/C.

I give up.  Nothing doing and as I thought no lightning even when the rain does make it.  At least it's going to be warm here tomorrow.

Had a nice wee thunderstorm in Pitlochry while sitting outside the pub

It’s a shame nothing happened like the forecasts were saying. I really thought their would be widespread storms tonight, it’s still very warm and humid.

'Could be a sticky one tonight', said the actress to the bishop. Still at 23C and not forecast to go below 20C (depending on which crap forecast you look at), which is quite unusual for here.
