Thunder starting to rumble away to the south.Radar shows quite a bit of  lightning to the south.Humidity is off the scale.Take a couple of steps outside and the sweat is pouring off you.

The red zone on my map kicking off already as reported by @Northernlights

After an hour or so of torrential rain bursts, rumblings, flickering lights and one flash, the storm appears to have passed.

Tarves, Aberdeenshire.  No thunder here yet (not even raining) but very humid.

I have attached the radar image and does look like a hook on that cell which would confirm the rotation / funnels that you pictured, great pic 62724C9D-391B-46CC-9B8C-AE83F3F742B7.thumb.jpeg.644cabad3f4449f0aba1a9fd7be78968.jpeg

I am buzzing about this picture!

It really is incredible and so rare! You are an absolute superstar for capturing this image! Wildest dreams stuff for lovers of storms in the UK!

Showed it to my girlfriend and mate sitting beside me (they have no interest in storms) and even they were impressed!

You are a legend! ?

Great Summer so far for thunderstorms across Scotland.

Weatherwise today was a bit of a let down in this part of Aberdeenshire at least.

Started with a lot of potential with oppressive humidity and a max of 22c around 2pm, accompanied by plenty of ominous dark grey clouds.

Rain started around 3pm with temperature rapidly dropping to 17c, and its been raining sporadically off and on until now though never heavy.

As for thunder, just one distant rumble around 5pm - atmosphere felt like it would go with a bang but instead we just got a damp squib.

Further north, a different story as you know - some videos of the funnel clouds are posted on the Fubar Facebook site - link.

Ended up being in between the zones of storms here today but in the sun with the humidity it did feel very warm, did see some anvils later in the afternoon again toward Dunbar which seems to have picked up 2 or 3 storms today. Slight risk map for tomorrow looks like another convergence zone will set up down the spine of the country with the chance of some storms along it but not expecting anything too severe as CAPE values wont be anywhere near as high as today's. image.thumb.png.18ece869b08b47fefd75665f3004c04b.png

Looks spot on - might be a few surprises today!

Lovely few days ahead - quite warm and plenty of sun! (Currently looks as though Tuesday could be a lively day with regards to thunderstorms)

Have a good weekend all!

Quite a pleasant day out there. Still warm yes but the humidity is finally much less. Should be the trend for the weekend to come

Still humid here after a very muggy night. Temp 19.8C.

Did anyone else have a sudden spike in temperature yesterday around 5-6pm? Here it briefly jumped to 24.8C at that time from around 20C in the afternoon. Like Kirkcaldy we missed out on all the showers yesterday apart from in the early morning. Let’s see what today will bring?

A nice sky earlier this evening.

Actually it was warm enough underneath that for a meal on the patio.

Much the same here, but unfortunately no sooner than the sun appears, the clouds billow up and threaten rain!

At least it's not cold or windy - small mercies.

This summer up here has been a real challange on the farm Ever since the middle of May there have been very few dry spells and lots of cold nights.Up till yesterday we had four days of wetting drizzle and rain.and today when I thought it might ease on came the drizzle again this morning while just 7 miles away in Forres there was bright sunshine.Cereal crops are all in need of sunshine now for the next month to fill the grain. Turnips are about two weeks behind.Cereals will be at least the third week in August berfore they will be ripe but the grass is still motoring on.The warmer nights this last week have helped the heat sensitive plants like runner beans parsnips and sweet peas catch up in the garden.Currently dry overcast and 16c
