It's a glorious start

It was here too with long sunny spells earlier, but now clouded over, feeling cool and spitting rain.

Not sunbathing weather....unless you have a fur coat.

Dull dreich and drizzly here but forecast shows it brightening up here in the afternoon.Lets hope so as lack of dry  weather and very little sunshine is begining to show in the garden and on the farm crops. Weeds are thriving though no point in dutch hoeing as its so wet so it looks like a hands and knees job to remove them in the next week.    Currently 10c

Thousands of acres of silage needing cut in the area. Crop spraying well behind too as machines get bogged down in fields. One contractor yesterday telling me he has 22 farms waiting for his sprayer. Admiittedly mostly smaller acreages but would still need a week of dry weather to complete.

 How I hate wet summers.

Bit of sunshine early in the morning but it's now heavy rain once again - slow moving shower in Met Office parlance...

Light winds and a balmy 11c

Lovely day, 16.5c currently. Sunny. Expected high of 18/19 and threat of showers later on.

Yesterday wasn’t awful at 17c and partly cloudy.

Going to enjoy today before it goes down hill

Glorious day here so far - currently 17 degrees and sunshine.

Blue sky overhead but looking to my Northwest over the Cowal Peninsula...they are getting a soaking!

Really love these type of days - warm, sunny and the chance of a torrential downpour/thunderstorm. (This is what Summer should be all about!)

Although the skies have looked threatening here the mountains have broken them up as there been no rain here today despite how the radar's looked (although has turned pretty breezy)

Got back to sowing neeps this afternoon as sun came out and dried up the ground. Had to go round various wet bits where old tractor started to sink. Its very rare to have to miss anything because of saturated ground at this time of year. The other comment is that old tractor has a cab but with plenty of gaps .I was all dressed up in coats as its absolutely freezing for June. Ground became very damp this evening so had to stop.Stiil need another drying day to finish.Currently overcast and 11c

The 00z GFS and ECM are very different for us overhead with a horrible flat GFS and a tasty amplified ECM both supported by their operationals?

Still looking for summer! Walking down to work yesterday evening I was wearing a fleece and waterproof jacket. Sunny skies but that wind just aboot cut me in two! Walking back from work after 11, what a difference! Nae wind, clear skies and a damn sight warmer than earlier on! It wouldn't have had anything to do with the coupe of glasses of wine I had at the end of the shift. No, off course not.

Damp and cool in Aberdeenshire. It would only take an hour of sun to warm things up but it doesn't look likely.

A really cool day sitting on a tractor sowing more neeps in between llght showers coming in off the Firth on a fresh Northerly wind. Some of them even looked wintry on the horizon. Ground conditions are rally sticky but time moving on  so have to sow them. now A very wet block about 10% of the field will have to wait for a dryer spell or be put into faster growing stubble turnips in July.

Have to say the old black cat hugging the rayburn has the right idea as it was  really cold outside001.thumb.JPG.60c79a47f25fabbf49339c3d1b232e75.JPG. Spaniel not so happy being bossed around by the cats but will get her turn when cats put out for the night. Currently 9.5c and overcast.

Bird feeders being emptied on a  daily basis too

I think these have been the worst conditions at this time of the year for sowing swedes that I can remember. Very rare to be so continually  wet in late May early June

Not much sign of any warm/hot weather for the foreseeable showing on the latest GFS or ECM.

Hopefully in July...Summer arrives for everyone in Scotland!

Nearly the summer solstice but the weather is stuck in a October rut.

Miserable out there with a strong cold northerly wind bringing in waves of heavy drizzle, currently 8c.

Really need some warmth now, noticing that some of the perennials are starting to rot off with the continual cold wet conditions.

Constant rain for the last few hours and more of the same to come over the next 24 hours or so - slightly warmer now though at 9c.

Really surprised to see a lot of rooks and magpies feeding under the bird feeders this afternoon, they usually avoid this area unless they are desperate for food - and yes, that is a one legged magpie (has been around the area for over a year now).

Well this summer thing better start soon.... nothing but rain and wind here in Crieff. on a good note we found our new fur baby today and we go to meet her on Tuesday, very excited we lost our boy Henry last year after a brief illness and its just not the same without a bundle of fluff in the house. hope everybody is well and looking forward to some welcome sun.

Yes very wet night now after a very drizzly day. Most of the veg in the garden are looking sorry for themslves apart from the cabbages/sprouts/cauliflower. Really needing some sun /dry weather now .for both plants and animals.Paying for those lovely days at the end of February.

7C, strong blustery NE wind, low cloud, mist, thick drizzle on the drive to work this morning. On the drive home it was 9C but otherwise unchanged. Looking outside now it looks just the same. Forecast for tomorrow is, if anything, worse.

Sucks!
