Yes it really has been a total borefest/dullfest this weekend with regards to the weather.

Day off tomorrow so thinking about dusting off the barbecue...need to make the most of these elusive pleasant Spring days! ☀️

Have a good week everyone.

I see you dusted off the phone charger too

Dreich calm and cool at 6c                  .Most of yesterday was the same so no growth.           Its looking like a late spring . Looking at the spring barley we sowed last week can see it has sprouted but emergence is still two weeks away at this rate of growth.

Birds emptying the feeders every day and badgers coming into the steading every night looking for food although young Mr. Northernlights says they are taking new born lambs in the  fields  every night on the farm where he works. Seem to prefer just the head.so very distressing for folk looking after them. This in spite of farmer patrolling the fields all night on a quad bike.

Geese are plaguing the grass fields again so no sign of them heading north yet.

There was a sizeable flock of Bramblings at Balgavies yesterday which would indicate they too are leaving their northward migration quite late this year.

On the other hand there was a small flock of House Martins feeding over the loch and surrounds - first sighting for me this Spring.

Looks like the normal  April  cold snap is on its way for about the 21st of the month our average cattle turnout date. On numerous occasions over  the last  50 years I have turned cattle out in warm conditions only for snow to fall three days later.

Absolute glorious weather here today - warm and plenty of sunshine. (At long last!)

Roll on Summer!

Gorgeous here as well.

High of 15.8c and in any shelter (bit of a breeze) felt/feels v summery.

I do feel sorry for the east coasters.... Not just because they live in the East but also because the weather was terrible Sat and Sun in Edinburgh...

Cloud was slow to clear this morning on Skye, with even a few spits of rain at times near Uig...

Snag_98c7afc.thumb.png.cba04b5e3469bf7ab11f5f574d1b3256.png

But sun was out late morning by the time we got to the Fairy Glen (goodness knows what that is like in the summer as it was swarming with visitors today, parking anywhere they can making for a chaotic mess - story of Skye really, plenty visitors but where is the infrastructure investment??).

Temperature up to 13.5C around Portree and the Cuillins in the mid afternoon...

Back on the mainland, hazy sunshine in the evening around Loch Duich and Glen Shiel with a stiff breeze and temperature around 10c - not much in the way of snow which was surprising.

@CatchMyDrift

I've no idea why that white triangle is there or what it represents and have not noticed it before but will keep eyes peeled when passing through G.Ogle in the near future.

Recently, you were asking about places of interest in the area. Have you discovered Rob Roy's grave at Balquhidder? There is a nice short circular walk starting from Balquhuidder Kirk where he is buried.

Another superb warm and sunny Spring day here - glorious evening ahead in the local beer garden!

If only this weather would stay for a few weeks - rather than a few days!

Snow still clinging on up Beinn Ime in the distance.

After a frosty start it is another fine sunny day, but not feeling particularly warm, around 9-10C, and the breeze has a definite bite.

This damson-type plum tree (variety not known) is laden with blossom - hope the frost and the forecast chill will not be too damaging.   2092301521_blossomplum2*.thumb.jpg.87ce9091105e2d79b84f359dfc80f3bf.jpg    2018660261_blossomplum2.thumb.jpg.860691ee76a3ab363125ca42550c383d.jpg  I’m not expecting a great crop though as the buds on the adjacent Victoria plum tree are still firmly closed and there is a dearth of pollinating insects around here, as yet, only the odd bumble bee.

After a slow start to monday (cloud didn't break to during the afternoon) been absolutely glorious. Even better today compared to yesterday with the wind dying a death. More of this during the summer please! (a frost this morning too but you'd almost have to blink and you'd miss it)

Not so cold this morning at 5c after yesterdays start at -1c but with more cloud cover but dry and calm. Still sowing yesterday but down to last field.Barley sown in the last week of March is just emerging in spite of the cold soaking it got last week.

Power of maternal love was demonstrated by a Blackface ewe on the farm where young Mr Northernlights is working just now when a neighbour sitting in his house watched her defend her lamb by repeatedly head butting a big dog fox and driving it away.  Even I am wary of a Blackface sheep with large horns!!!!

Go wee sheepie! I hope the farmer went out later and helped her in case it came back... not fond of foxes at all

Loving this settled spell. Max of 13.8C again today after a low of -2.2C. Fourth cracking day on the bounce. Snaps of the Perthshire countryside from St Fillans GC this afternoon.

The weather has been really nice the last few days, very cold in the morning but feeling very pleasant during the afternoons.  I was up early yesterday morning to take the wife to work, the sunrise was really nice. I wish I had my good camera on me to get a better shot.

Think our luck has ran out at last. Started sunny again but the cloud has crept in. Not gonna rain obviously but the cloud will make it feel cooler

Thanks for that NL, I'd have worried! Hate foxes.

Yesterday was bright and sunny as I took my doggie to the vet school in Edinburgh for her 6 monthly 'staging' (all's well I believe). Spent some time on the E. Lothian coast.

 Dunbar castle and harbour:
