Just to point out, despite seemingly been under the pink on the radar for the past hour or so, in this part of Glasgow we've had nothing more than flurries, and certainly no lying snow.

When I see pics of heavy snow that is settling elsewhere in the city it's not good.

A nice wee surprise covering from that heavy shower that somehow sneaked through the gap between the hills (a Tay-Clyde streamer?!). Just battled through drifts of up to a centimetre between Motherwell, Bellshill and Uddingston

Still snowing here steadily but light. That line of showers on the radar to our NNW appears to be heading this way. Unusually at least so far they are not petering out as they leave the Grampians. Someone mentioned that the upper air movement is more NE than NNW. Could that be why?

I think there is an element of an upper easterly flow watching those showers in the north sea move toward the east coast all day but the broad flow overall is a NE'erly perhaps north north east in some areas, and as you say it is very surprising that the showers / band hasn't died out completely moving into Fife but I am glad it hasn't  p1549046304.gif

Heavy snow in Queensferry and the next showers look like they want to miss Edinburgh too. Not only are the toys flying, but the pram is too

That's just not cricket!

Snow went off. Now back on. Pic from front door.  Ignore blurry dog. Fancy phone camera and I still can’t take a photo of our dog!

Very, very light snow here as we get clipped by the very edge of that shower. I bet if I run 5 doors down the street it's not snowing

watching this radar is like a slow form of torture @Hawesy if you are in St Andrews get on the pier and you will probably be able to see the snaw showers aff the coast  (nae doubt you are in Broughty Ferry /  Dundee and are already seeing some snaw)

@Blitzen @Benvironment @Snowlover2 @Big Innes Madori possible incoming fae the north! @ghoneym keep the eyes peeled to the east / north east !

And there is  The most beautiful, light, vertical, slow and sparkly snowfall

I think we may just be lucky enough to catch those showers moving down from st Andrews. Let's wait and see, they look pretty hefty and going over the water might perk them up a bit more too

Got my eye on those showers working their way through fife just now. Slight southerly tilt on the last 2-3 radar returns but expecting them to probs hit Edinburgh (if they survive the trip across the forth :oldlaugh:) Typical East Lothian. Blast it up the A1 to the Jewel and it'll be a winter wonderland.

Heaviest snow of the winter so far here....which isn't saying much tbh. Not even 1cm yet though.

Nice big flakes now. Should help it accumulate.

About a cm here now in Broughty Ferry....for perspective that’s only the third measurable snowfall event I’ve had at home since 2010!  Of course I did live in Crail until 2016!
