Ok... it seems that it'll get colder yet so snow should be coming, rather than more bloody rain or sleet. More fun to be had before then end of the month and then there's still plenty of winter left.

I went up the street earlier and it was like an ice rink - the 2 minutes of sleet had frozen to the pavements. Shocking.

The polar low seems to have disappeared on the latest GFS run.

Still there but in a slightly different position (north of Scotland) - as I suggested earlier I wouldn't take any positioning of it too literally given how hard they are to model / predict

GFS precipitation map until Saturday. Really dire, it was too early to get excited about the end of the week. It could change again, but honestly I don't have much hope.

Radar shows snow south of Edinburgh right now, it just clipped the bypass. Nothing in the city centre at all

Looks like it's all going north of here judging by the radar at the minute. What's fallen here so far in any case has been sleet at best

The coldest uppers follow the front unfortunately, the snow showers coming in behind won’t reach us on a NW flow

Great blob over Glasgow at the minute!

Looking great for you today mate! Wish I was back in my old home in Croftfoot! In the past everytime you got snow - I got it five minutes later!

Showers lining up nicely out West!

Sorry to make things sound bad for you but aye Castlemilk had touched down in land of snawland (not to be confused with Shawlands). Although last week i had snow at top of castlemilk but bottom of castlemilk drive was clear!

Showers are making it well inland and look as though they are keeping intensity - Surely only a matter of time for Edinburgh?

Was raining here until an hour ago when it turned to snow. Not settling except on the parked cars.

Was great last year for that whole area! Glad to hear you have snow!

Sod all settling on the ground here but hopefully when the low clouds lift from the surrounding hills/mountains they will have a good cover at least.

Dry so far but cold. Just had a phone notification from the Met, with the yellow warning being extended eastwards. Game on say Exeter!

Not exactly buried but it's the most we've had so far this winter and it's still falling.
