    Just watched the Women's Final.
    Wow, great entertainment.
Very well done young Canadian Bianca Andreescu  !!  (19 yrs old)
She beat the mighty Serena Williams 6-3 and 7-5  and earned c. £3 million
I believe she is the first Canadian to win a singles Major.

No mention of the men's USA final ?    Nadal v Medvedev

Wow what a feast of top notch tennis.  A 5 set thriller.

Rafael Nadal won his 19th Grand Slam title after holding off Russian Daniil Medvedev's exhilarating fightback in one of the greatest US Open finals.

    Spain's Nadal, 33, won 7-5 6-3 5-7 4-6 6-4 against the fifth seed in New York.

Nadal, seeded second, was cruising at two sets and a break up, only for Medvedev to force a decider.

But Nadal stopped his momentum to clinch a thrilling win in four hours and 50 minutes - just four minutes shorter than the longest US Open final.

Nadal's victory moves him within one of Swiss rival Roger Federer's all-time leading tally of men's Grand Slam victories.

Sadly those 2 players will win very few matches, and never make it anywhere near the top again

Knew the'd do it when tennis season prectically finished, this is no punishment, it should be from mid June to mid Sept,

Just watched a good Andy Murray win over fellow Brit. Cam Norrie in the China Open (ATP 500)
    7-6   6-7  and 6-1.
Andy looked fit to drop with tiredness in the 2nd set so the easy taking of the 3rd set was a turn round.
Thankfully Andy has a day off now before his quarter final.

Yes, a pity, Andy was serving for the match too.
It all got a bit nasty at one point between Murray and Fognini.  The Italian can be rather a wind up merchant.  I think the aggro helped Fognini and hampered Murray.

Britain's Andy Murray produced a fine comeback to beat Ugo Humbert at the European Open and reach his first ATP final for two years.

Murray, who had career-saving hip surgery in January, showed his trademark stubbornness to win 3-6 7-5 6-2 in two hours 23 minutes.

He will face fellow three-time Grand Slam winner Stan Wawrinka of Switzerland in Sunday's final.

"It's been a big surprise to me. I'm happy to be into the final," he said.

    ?   Well done Andy !

:clapping: Absolutely Fantastic, Andy wins the European Open tennis, beating Stan Wawrinka in 3 sets.
    Stan played exceptionally well too.

    • Cool Showerfest continues for the next week. Hints of a change beyond that?

With the jet stream close to the south and low pressure nearby over the next 7 days, expect showers or longer spells of rain over many areas, staying cool too, with temperatures below average. But hints of something drier and more settled arriving next weekend. View the full blog here
