been one of worst December's ever for cold, hardly even a frost, and not even any sleet, will remain the same, can guarantee no snow here for rest of Dec

0ct holiday week was colder, 5 out of 7 frosty mornings, but Atlantic quieter in 0ct

Blame the Ferrel Westerlies. Something needs to be done about them!

Well theres no disputing Dec has been an absolute abomination for coldies!!

Next 6 weeks will be the defining factor for winter.. if Jan goes a similar way to Dec it will be on a par with 88/89..

Not saying it will of course, but still very little to be optmistic about still..

There's a racehorse named 'Waiting Patiently' in the 3.05 pm (King George VI) at Kempton Park today.

I think all cold lovers on Netweather should definitely put some money on it!  😉

Worth a punt! If it wins and the models start to show something worth looking at, I'll get rid of my old Crystal ball!

🤣😜

I suppose not all winters are cold and snowy

I like cold snowy weather but it could be the case we just have a mild winter i hope not .

But thats just weather if we do.

True mate I'm trying to be optimistic but as per usual any cold prospects always getting pushed back. A few weeks back it was looking good for a cold end to Dec.

It would be nice to see a white snowy landscape again

I hate this current setup tbh

I'd rather have gale force winds and heavy rain

Or even better gale force winds and heavy snow...

good afternoon all, hope everyone had a fantastic Xmas day, i see Santa has not delivered us cold lovers any Xmas cheer and going forward that looks likely to remain the case, temps back up to double figures by the weekend so if we get any sunshine at least it should feel nice enough, and with me being a gardener no cold equals plenty of work in the New Year, but i would sooner have a few snow days off, lol

It looks and sounds like it too - there are flies and gnats flying around in the garden, and birdsong is quite loud too.  It may as well be spring the way things are going.

There is one thing that stands out for me prolonged mild periods sometimes break down to a colder regime

Its one thing ive noticed over the last 35 years.

Not always but sometimes..

While I'm waiting for the 12z to come out I'm going to try and remove splinters from my fingers from smashing up my sledge.
