Enough wind there to blow a ???? man off his sister.

Seriously though, looks like we are in for a period of interesting weather, crazy wind speeds with potential blizzard conditions. Scary for the west coast.

As Ronan says, ECM update be interesting

Goodbye Kerry and Cork if that verifies

It's amazing the consistent output regarding this potential violent storm in a week from now. It throws everything at us, violent and damaging winds, rain, sleet, snow, hail and thunder. A vicious storm.

It has been the most consistent output all winter yet! Next week will be interesting to say the least. Let's see the 18z throw a spanner in the works now. Lol

Mad if it comes off!

Fierce weather out tonight though, didn’t expect the thunder and lightning

No need for Borris's bridge when the gfs can just blow Ireland into Scotland !!!!! Crickey though must check the small print on the house insurance

Really fascinating stuff this. Even though such extremes are unlikely to verify, just seeing such charts has me blown away....(pun intended)

Wind warnings out for Saturday and Sunday already which is impressive as it's only Tuesday.

Main snow event chances remain Monday and Tuesday with stormy conditions throughout.

Wait till all the media pick up on this now. People will be out panic buying. Lol. I am just back from a 10 day Iceland trip. Experienced 4 crazy storms one after an other and had some epic snow. Will post some videos and pics later.

ECM ensembles for me show a max gust of 104mph for Saturday and 109mph for next week. Taken with a pinch of salt but shows the potential for very extreme weather.

If you can, get down to coast and get some pictures of the waves (safely!).

Icon 12z looks very dangerous.

I’m considering a trip to the coast myself. Sheltered spots like Mullaghmore likely to be heaving! Nothing like watching enormous waves erupting like bombs as they crash onto the rocks! Love it

Ah yeah, nothing like it! When the conditions are right it can just amplify incoming swells.

Perhaps we’ll all go there and then have the joy of navigating home through a blizzard

At least the wind will be at your back on the way home.

Next week is looking rather manic, I’m gonna be glued to this forum for the next few days I think.

The potential storms from Saturday night through to Wednesday look quite serious for some at present. The snow potential also should have a few eyebrows raised on this thread

It will be a very windy, potentially stormy few week with rain, sleet, hail and snow. At this range, it's hard to be specific.

Some area will do well for snow and others will lose out and altitude helps as ever.

Should be a wild ride from Saturday through to friday

The 12z has the - 5 850s over us from early Monday morning right through to Thursday on a really brisk wind. Potential there for some serious weather. That's forgetting this weekend's windstorm. Fascinating period coming up.

Check out the snow Row (Omagh) for next week on the GFS 12z ens. Not dropping below 90% from Monday to Wednesday!

Saturday evening and into the middle or end of next week could be pretty memorable for some, hopefully most.

Surprised this thread and MOD not lively with the potential shown at present.

I even have snow symbols for Monday morning on MetO automated, all adds to the excitement
