First lying snow for me this morning, nothing major but this winter has been so pathetic it feels like I'm in Newfoundland stuck under 12ft drifts

Omg there is a light snow symbol showing for my location on met office forecast for tonight!! I should’ve taken a screen shot before it disappears!!!!

Looking at the latest GFS it doesn't look good for northern counties.

What charts you seeing @mountain shadow?

Are you talking about Northern counties of N Ireland?

All of NI. The GFS 6z had the snow much further South into RoI.

Hopefully we will see something.

METO:

A spell of more persistent sleet or snow will spread to southern counties this evening spreading northeast to affect Antrim before clearing eastwards in early hours. Then turning icy. Minimum temperature 0 °C.

The 12z GFS does move it back North. It looks a very brief affair, but after this crap Winter so far. I'll take it!

Anything that pushes east on radar from the west seems to be dying as it comes further inland another none event pending for most I'd think away from heavier showers on the higher hills. #worstwintertodate

The little trough that is meant to deliver doesn't make an appearance for another few hours though.

Yea its effecting mayo and the likes currently will likely die a death as it pushes inland i haven't much hope for anything this winter we keep rolling the no luck card all winter.

Heavy cold wet rain here. Not even a spit of sleet. Worst kind of weather really! Uppers simply on the wrong side of marginal for lower levels.

High today of 4.7c. currently 3.2c with light drizzle. Bit to go to get any snow here. Great to see other areas getting snow.

Interesting that precip seems to be falling as snow further west, closer to the coast and turning to rain further inland. I’d have expected the opposite given the moderating effect of warm sea surface temperatures. Perhaps it’s partly due to evaporative cooling with heavier precipitation in those parts, or....perhaps I’m just p#ssed that I’m not getting any snow!

Sleet has now turned to snow. Massive big flakes to. Not the best pic. Hope temps drop further now.
