Agreed.

But we've terrific means for the past month.

I want this inside T+192 with the upper air not being overlay moderated.

Pretty strong signal days 7&8 leading to GH spread not bad either time will tell.

Any sign of shower intensity increasing during the night? Not much happening so far!

18z GFS even better than the 12z for a brutal Northerly, but again all FI.

That shows a North Easterly of not major cold though, Its the purple we want to tap into.

Let's see what tomorrow brings.

Well, the proper Northerly has moved further away, now at day 15.

A cold but not proper Easterly looks like setting up, with marginal uppers, so only higher ground might benefit.

Nice frost this morning, down to -0.8c and a lovely change from the rain. Good to see some of you got snow!

Got a nice covering here, a couple of centimetres. Sun is shining now and currently 1 degrees.

I see the met office have extended their snow and ice warning out to tomorrow morning at 11am. Seems a bit odd considering the lack of precipitation around. Although there appears to be more happening around the west coast of Scotland heading our way.

Wee dusting round Limavady this morning. I left the house on the bike this morning before daylight to head up to loughermore trig for sunrise. There was a few cm once you gained a bit of elevation.

Metoffice forecast:

Tonight:

Wintry showers becoming heavier and more prolonged in evening and spreading south, with some lying snow at low levels. Drier later in night with a few clear spells and frosty. Minimum temperature -2 °C.

Thursday:

Rather cold and frosty, but mainly dry and bright with some sunshine. Wintry showers near coasts and perhaps more prolonged wintry weather in evening. Fresher northeasterly winds. Maximum temperature 3 °C.

Maybe in for a surprise for some.  Hopefully
