Must be the same band gathering out to the North West

NI Weather & Flood Advisory Service

❄️⚠️

Just a heads up folks!

We are keeping a close eye on a more organised area of showers just out to the Northwest of the country.

it's heading our direction over the next few hours and some areas could see more prolonged sleet & snow for a time later this afternoon/evening which is likely to lead to some accumulations of several cm's in short periods of time.

We will keep monitoring this and keep you updated.

Had seriously heavy hail and thunder and lightening out this direction around half 11 or so. Left a covering. Some sleety showers since. Interested to see where this more organised band will go!

Maybe it's me being negative, but i'm struggling to see much snow of any significance.

Although, if this is snow then some Northern coastal counties could be in for a good dumping shortly......

And look what's out behind it.

But the direction of travel is due East and not South East so that huge blob looks Scotland bound I think.

It looked that way but it headed slightly further south if you follow the animation

Another decent shower there, not laying though. Temps need to fall back a bit more or we will have nothing. Currently 1.9c.

Follow the Isobars gives you good idea of direction early today it was more westerly and 4pm onwards its north-westerly.

So that makes it a direct hit.
