I believe it is possible if we get entrenched cold air and weather fronts moving up from the south east across the country. Our island appears to have 3 micro-climates of N, E&SE and W&SW. I guess a long stretch easterly could deliver but they are rare, as we know. Anyway looking like we may yet get some of the white stuff having consumed way too much of the black stuff over Christmas!

A proper Northerly with fronts pushing down across the country would deliver for all. Or a Greenland express set up Snow showers from an Easterly never make it over to me. An East wind with a front pushing from the south would give me snow yes, sadly with showers from an Easterly just never makes it to me. Ideally let's hope we can get a proper Easterly and a proper Northerly and not a wishy washy version of either.

UKMO has an Easterly next week as does the GFS which then goes for a full on retrogression to Greenland with a stonking Northerly.

How West does the easterly go Mountain? Anything for us to be excited about or just an east coast event?

It doesn't look good for all Ulster really,  just a Leicester affair but there may be trailing fronts out West.

Still to soon to put meat on the bones though.

ECMWF is a beauty too.

A great set of runs this morning! But we’ve been here before.... Let’s get it to 96 and look for the finer details!

More a over the water affair. They look like getting a dumping on Tuesday with mostly rain here Monday night I’m afraid.  Easterly night give some snow to some eastern areas for us next week then after that it looks good but will likely change. The hunt continues until it gets to the reliable

If the models back West,  still a chance of snow a Monday night.

We might need to wait for the predicted Greenie heights in a couple of weeks though.

The hope is we get ALL snow. If the Easterly backs further West then there's more time for slightly milder uppers to be replaced by the colder Polar Maritime air.

Still 4/5 days away, so could all change.

Updated charts have actually decreased milder sector with colder air catching up over us so if this continues over the days we could get lucky. But it could also go other way but a nice trend.

Good news with the models. Will we be seen more scenes like this throughout Ireland in the coming weeks.

GFS 6z still has the rain to snow event on Monday night, the mild sector is a bit larger though.

Yeah not as good due to mild sector but a long way for things to change for the better. A long way from knowing. My guess Monday afternoon we might know!

If we do get snow early next week, it should stick around as we start to get colder and colder but mainly dry at this stage.
