14.7°C here too about an hour ago, now dropped about .5° since.  Less breezy than yesterday and feeling much warmer in the sun.  Difficult to believe that it is still February.

Haven't been on for a while so I just want to say the snow was amazing with 13-17cm in town and up to 20cm in nearby villages beating the snowstorms of last winter. It was like a blizzard at times :)

Cracking day! High of 16.8°C and now down to 12.1°C. Went cycling in t-shirt and shorts for the first time since October, was surprised to see people STILL in heavy coats.

But that’s the impressive nature of the diurnal contrast between 08.00 and 13.00-16.00 .

Those people may have gone out that early. For instance we went out at about 08.00 in coats, hats and gloves etc then this afternoon we went out in shorts etc!

Just arrived back from the Alps and my worries were over nothing as usual. Over 1.7 metres in places!

Well the wifey and I have arrived in snowless Inverness for our 3 day ‘winter break’ the journey up was cloudless ☀️ fantastic flying weather. The thing I didn’t expect to see was 30+ (I gave up counting after 30) separate fires on the hills from Manchester northwards even into southern Scotland. Anyone know if they would be controlled heath fires (are they allowed to do that) or are they early fire outbreaks due to the dry conditions though tbh that seems unlikely given the sheer amount of them I saw.
