Yeah this exactly, I usually find the netwx radar (I still use V4 because I'm old) to be pretty accurate, within expected tolerances obviously, but this evening has just broken the mould tbh. Spent hours under positive returns with s*d all and now I'm under nowt it's all go! One for the notebook I suppose! ?

We can never really trust it because Dean Hill is U/S, so it always puts doubts in your mind.

I'm impressed that you've got a notebook though. I just forget and fall into the same trap year after year.

Guys good luck today -As they say one mans loss is another mans gain - well for once in the UK the south & SW are going to gobble up the Norths snow ? Someone in North Devon / Somerset / Wilt

There does seem to be issues with the radar but I’ve noticed before that there does seem to be much more of a lag with snow compared with rain.

Hence giving the impression of predicting the snow!

Perhaps, when you consider the time snow takes to fall in comparison to rain, then throw in the wind and maybe there could be something in it...

Looks like Oxford got lucky! I know we can't trust what the radar is saying this evening but, according to that, The heaviest PPN from the whole band is slap bang over there ?

Any reason why radar has been terrible today?

Not a scooby. I have noticed this before with other snow events though. Especially if the band of snow is pushing up from the South. Happened in 2009, when according to the radar, Leicester was under light snow for a good 2 hours and nothing was falling ? It did arrive in the end though, just a few hours late?

Metaphorical mainly. Just keep mental tabs on weather, booze and ferrets.

We all knew about the first two, but ferrets is a new one. Too funny.

Who doesn't love a ferret right?

In other news and after a brief lull, it's only bl**dy snowing again! Bit finer, but coming down well. Seems to have been a decent push in off the channel just east of IOW, which someone mentioned earlier may be the case.
