Just started, oh so light, but thankfully no wet stuff mixed in here. AT 0.7c, DP -2.0c and AP 984.4mb falling slowly. All of this is heading the right way but where will the precipitation band end up? Quite a widespread event for the South for once which is good to see.

It’s been an unusual day in Plymouth. Rarely does a weather front come in from the west give 3 hours of rain before turning to heavy snow given a good covering. Back-edge snow from the west - it’s just odd!

Where is the heavy ppn? Been snowing in southampton for an hour but hardly laying?. Looks as though were half way through the band and nothing heavy to speak off. Really disappointing....

Another five minutes at most if your readings are accurate.

Umm the precip is going into france? And there is no pivot? This could be a massive bust for the people in the amber zone? Meanwhile in the NE we have our first few flakes!

I don't know how many people are on here that are under that amber warning, but it was valid from 2pm, and it expires in 2 and half hours. I haven't seen many reports or amazing pictures yet?

I’ve so far had sleet and more recently a few flakes blowing about in the wind... ? and I’m in the amber zone, I don’t hold out hope for anything unfortunately ??

I have no idea why a amber warning was put up around Bristol, nothing falling out the sky!

And wrong for Plymouth and lower ground in Devon I’d say. Good attempt but not quite

What part of Plymouth. I nipped down to marjons at 4 to collect my daughter and wet snow was becoming snow. When I got home here in dousland it had gone all white. But yes snow from the West in Plymouth? Heady days.

Can't help thinking they may need to extend the amber warning zone.

Mind you, an hour of moderate snow has not settled here in Portsmouth.

I suppose as the Met Office has us down for rain until 8pm (!), I should take the falling snow early on as a bonus!

Temp 1.4C falling at rate of -1.4C /hr DP 0.1C decreased by -0.6C in last hour. Looking at the UKMO forecast map and netweather radar the heavy ppn is due around 2000 in Gosport and Portsmouth.

And to think how good it was looking a few hours ago. Praying for a miracle to be honest now. Met Office still don't say it will snow until 9pm though so who knows.
