Beautifully sunny day with clear blue skies until late afternoon when a bit of cirrus cropped up making the sunshine a little hazy, but still very nice. A high of 19.8°C, currently 14.3°C

A fairly interesting sunset, not spectacular, but better than nothing. Moon was showing well too.

A lovely day, but annoyingly windy. Temp 17.3°C.

What do you think the South coast will be like at the weekend? We were hoping to go to Weymouth for the beach for the first time this year, but I fear it will be too cool/cloudy/showers.

Fabulous sunny afternoon here, maximum 19.9 deg C at 4pm on my VP2, should be close to the highest in the region but noiwhere near what they are getting up north, for example 23.3 at Aviemore at 3pm!

Andy, watch this evening's Spotlight forecast for the best news for the weekend.  Not looking as good as we've had I'm afraid.

Another day of wall to wall sunshine, quite milky at times and more cloud to west this evening.  Warm and dry, what's not to like?

Hot out of the camera!

totally confused, the local ITV weather just said sunny and warm over the next few days.

met office don't agree, their website is showing cloudy and cool. max is only 12c on Friday and 13c on Saturday, maybe the sun returns next week. Someone will end up with egg on their face

BBQ tea tonight, as it's so nice. Didn't want to chance it tomorrow.

Sparrows are now happily noshing on the leftover sweetcorn cobs,

Local BBC was similarly contradictory to the Met. My Met app shows 15c max for Sunday with 60% chance of heavy showers at various times. Points West had it dry, both in the icon and wording by Ian Ferguson and showed 18c.

Got plans Saturday so hopefully more in the way of showers with some sunny spells rather than hours of endless drizzle and overcast skies!

Currently 10.2°C

Not weather related, but I've just popped this in the nature thread.

Salisbury Cathedral's Peregrine Web Cam is back up now the chicks are hatching.

It's great watching and listening to them screeching from ground level too, if you get the chance.

There’s a perfect solar halo at the moment, not sure how good the photo quality is though. A few small Cumulus as well as the Cirrus and a gentle SE breeze, 17.6c and very pleasant.

As Mapantz has reported, it's the same here in Bournemouth a complete veil of cloud has seen the blue skies disappear.

Visible image from SAT24 shows the thicker cloud over the area.
