I think I might get hysterical if it carries on like this!

This is an event that just keeps giving! The snow started in our area 12 hours ago now, after spending the day thinking it might not even make it this far north. Now I'm sat here watching it snowing heavier than ever with the snow really piling up. Happy days!

its hoofing it down too.

Have you left yet? I wouldn’t even attempt it.. chewton blocked due to Jack knifed lorry, single lane traffic down to Wells on the Bristol hill and people stuck/turning round.. not sure what the Shepton Road is like but probably the same

So nice seeing all the snow reports on the news for the south and south west, instead of usually  everywhere else in the country but the south and south west!

I really do think this now warrants an amber warning across the central parts of our region. Road conditions out there are appalling. Absolutely pouring down here in North Wiltshire.

4cms level snow here and it's just started to come back with very, very fine grains.

Anyone know what the chances are of that curl of snow hitting the south coast?  Met and BBC are at odds just for a change!!

Incredible scenes here. Nice snowfall and there must be a foot in places. Brilliant!

Who needs a beast? 12cm measured and still snowing heavy, best snow event in a very long time, porridge and coffee going down neck then out for a lovely walk and photos.

Morning all, just a couple of pics (will get out and take more later) we have 19cms level snow in the garden and it's still snowing well! Exceeded all my expectations. We're sooooooo lucky!

How are the roads around there? Debating whether to go to Wells or not (for work, not random choice lol)

The main roads are passable but don’t attempt mendip (can’t see your location) 5 inches here in wells

Coming from Cleeve. So Burrington road is out of the question then. Perhaps A371 via Cheddar better.

Someone did say on the FB community page that the cheddar Road was dodgy but it was a couple of hours ago. Traffic is moving on the A371 to Shepton outside my house

I really wouldn't bother. No idea what the main roads are like, reports of jack knifed lorries and stuck/abandoned cars.

Dont really understand the Meto amber warning currently. Heaviest snow risk seems to be to the west between Newbury and Bristol.
