Incredible! Still snowing here and back building. Now on an amber alert.

Last night's no snow worries into the distant past then!

What a great evening yesterday. Looking at thread, some lovely photos people had loads more than here but it was only 12 hours before the event the met were forecasting rain and sleet. More than happy.

Beautiful scene outside.  I just want to state what an incredibly brilliant job the Met Office / BBC / MeteoGroup did in forecasting this so accurately. Remember that the GFS had mostly rain and this was marginal, the Met stuck to their guns and went for it. The marginal nature can be seen in that for 3 hours it rained here in Exeter whilst it snowed 8 miles to the north-west in Crediton. Then even here it turned to snow.

Impressive.

Morning, can not believe it’s still snowing, roughly 6 inches, gauging by my by the frame of my gazebo runs, it seemed where I was and the surrounding areas were in the sweet spot

Morning Fromey

its incredible . I have been up since 2am

even then that was enough I was happy with

that amount but it's just kept falling .

wjen it looked like it was done it would just keep pepping up .

and now it's dark orange very very heavy again

look at these radar images and how lucky we are to stay in the snow

Now really belting down big flakes

As I said yesterday not sure the people who spent the night in their cars in Cornwall will be clapping the met

Nice 1cm or so dusting of snow late evening yesterday.
Enough to cover and take out the Sky Q satellite lnb at 9:30pm.

A low of 0.9c at 3am, now 1.6c.
Very light NNE wind.

Snow has started its thaw here already, just a sprinkling now left on house/shed roofs and cars.

There’s some interest. Gfs is some what of a cold outlier. Ecm hinting at ridges trying to go north. Feb will offer some opportunities but will it be a chase in vain? Hey ho it snowed

Morning from Poole. Doesn't look like there was much else falling last night. There's a few flurries in the air but a bit of melt. If that's all we get the rest of winter I will be happy. It certainly was fun while it lasted

Yep agree Fromey

it has surpassed the earlier 12-13 I measured

definitely now gone past 6" ( in my dreams lol) anyway back to the snow it's belting still and even the original amber warning that was a failure only had most at 4-8 1-3 by coast and that failed .

Earlier in the week IF was stating don't worry it won't be like last year it'll be few cm's just goes to show he gets it wrong too like the rest of us .
