Seeing your avatar reminds me that yesterday morning I went out and bought a really nice bird feeder, with a lovely copper "roof" and some suet energy balls to put in it. I fixed it up as soon as I got home and am really glad that I did. Poor little birds will be struggling tomorrow...I hope people will feed them and provide water too.

Good morning! It's going to be mayhem this morning, travelwise! I hope everybody stays safe.

Street lights have just come on. The snow is still falling and I have just been out with my ruler...4 inches (10 cms). Not a bad haul so far!

Sunrise here is 7.49am, so another 3 hours until we see it in all it's glory. Would have been a shame if it had thawed during the night. Be able to get better photos too! MetO forecast still saying snow until 3/4 o'clock this afternoon!

Get out and enjoy the snow in the morning folks it won't last long, make the most of it as you can, it's been a joy to chase it with you all over the past couple of days and weeks

Couldn't agree more a nice post and it certainly has been enjoyable chasing it with like-minded nutters .

To link into this I actually wanted to say to everyone do you reckon that people in Sweden Germany and Austria have threats like this and they will talk about the weather and get excited about the snow or do you think that because it's more common for them to get to know the novelty wears off and they just expect it .

Or do you think it's something within our genes as a nation that makes many of us so interested in the weather  or has anyone experienced threats in other countries where they are also weather fanatics like so many of us ?

But just agree once again it has been really enjoyable the ups the downs the tantrums the whole shebang .

But we got there in the end and it looks like the whole of southern England or most of it has experience no for even in London looking at the radar .

I wonder if this snow will carry on into the morning late morning as it looks to fizzle out on the radar and then peps up again .

Yes.. they're going to need all of the help they can get. Along with access to water

Must be a good 7 to 8 inches in Frome, tried to get the car going on a slight incline - not happening  Not going to try again until later on, too risky trying to get into Wokingham this morning.... Take care everyone

Morning all from a snowy Yate. I would guess at just over 3 inches of snow here. Light snow still falling.

I think you'll be fine Steve . I haven't ventured out in the roads but it's very wet snow will melt quickly .

I have just ventured out thought to measure up.

12-13 cm on the table level with 21cm drift by back door as quite windy too
