You have nothing in Winchester?! According to the radar, you've had snow over you for hours now. Must be some serious issues with the radar tonight. Reports of snow falling in dry slots on the radar and no snow falling when it's showing moderate-heavy snow

My back garden ...

That Fax Chart as posted by Knocker is a thing of beauty, what a rare opportunity this has turned into for some of us. A good few inches in selected prone spots overnight and into tomorrow, a day of intermittent snow continuing for some parts then as well.

Note the two surface lows and frontal features, one or two of which were unexpected I believe.

Fax Chart post by Knocker

See my previous in relation to Knocker's Fax chart post previously. The Fax Charts are updated during the actual weather event itself as new information is fed in, hence the extended warnings to late afternoon tomorrow for some. Don't go thinking we're due hours and hours of heavy snow but do be thinking, most of us will wake up to a wintry scene by the morning with some parts getting more than previously anticipated. AT in Newbury now -0.2c DP -2.8c and AP 983mb and slowly falling.

As to who, where, when and how much I still favour the regions mentioned in my post below for the heaviest snowfalls and accumulations.

Who will get the highest snow depths?

Just got very heavy out there and the main road is starting to get slushy! Met Office has me down for snow heavy at times during tonight and tomorrow lunchtime!

Metoffice has snow falling here until 2pm tomorrow!

Well they got it wrong today so I won't get my hopes up!

Could end up being right in a roundabout way!

Same Beka, been under "precip" for ages now but just nothing falling at ground level, just odd flakes every now and then.

I'm peed off for the kids sake But on the plus I'm really happy those on the coast are seeing it. So rare for them!

It's snowing. properly.  In Wantage.  Looks like we've got another hour too, followed by showers, and maybe more later.  Watching it from the lamp posts (fortunately we've still got the sodium ones that cast disperse light!), there's a definite easterly component to the wind, which coupled to the northerly progression, may bring that big area of precipitation over Brighton area earlier into play, if much weakened or breaking into showers behind.

Do we know how much there is or when it should move? The snow will be over by then

Would be nice to squeeze a good few hrs of mod/heavy snow fall out of this approaching band, snow slowly getting heavier in last 5 mins

Starting to pitch fast

The grass has now disappeared, just.  Still not as much as forecast, but seems to be lingering if the radar is actually correct.
