Well I texted a local friend half an hour ago moaning it hadn’t snowed (I looked outside 5 mins previous). I said it just feels like the clouds need unzipping, conditions are perfect. He texted back saying it’s snowing. Not heavy (yet?!) and after half an hour everything is white including a large conifer tree over the road. Here’s hoping it gets heavy for a bit at least!

At least you guys are getting it even if us 40 minutes north aren't!

You have nothing in Winchester?! According to the radar, you've had snow over you for hours now. Must be some serious issues with the radar tonight. Reports of snow falling in dry slots on the radar and no snow falling when it's showing moderate-heavy snow

Ruddy aweful in Winchester! All we have is a sugarcoating!

Same Beka, been under "precip" for ages now but just nothing falling at ground level, just odd flakes every now and then.

Just checked my met office app and it shows continuous snow right through till 2pm tomorrow afternoon, surely that can't be right! Not that I'm complaining lol

Because you kept the faith.

Same here. Heaviest it's been all night. Not great, but it'll do.

Ok its seems we have a dryer layer of air above us that's why it's not snowing

Will it move?

Lol, just saw the neighbour peeking out the living room window. Either looking at me watching the snow.. or just curious

This is after about 30 to 60 mins of snowfall. I am impressed as I was beginning to get a little nervous earlier at the prospect of getting none at all.

Not sure why the radar is a miss my netweather app had heavy snow showing over andover for 2 or 3 hours but my mate says they hardly had anything. Im just se of soton apparently in the dry as bamd moved through and its still coming down.

Appears a precipitation shadow has been in overdrive in certain parts of the region this evening. Bournemouth, Southampton and Portsmouth all have reported lying snow, while further north (Such as Andover, Winchester, Midhurst) there's hardly any. South Downs working overtime effecting snowfall rates to the north.

Just had a look and the Ridge has a fair covering. So much for the grit!

Wow, so Swindon has snow now! Must be moving Northwards slowly. Looks like Oxford still haven't got anything though. I hope it reaches there soon, my cousin lives there and is excited to see some snow. I promised him he would get some tonight  Must be very close to them now though is Swindon has it.

Few miles north of Oxford and it's snizzling

That’s the prediction, go to ‘last 6hours’ that’s the live radar.
