Still snowing heavily hear in mudeford, settling on all surfaces! This after everything was soaking wet, so don't give up if if things are looking bleak.

Hope so! Radar watching is fascinating and painful here at the same time! I just hope the stuff in Somerset slowly creeps this way with the incredibly slow northward trend as well. I’ve seen stalling and pivoting systems where it’s damn obvious it won’t get to where I am, this one not so much! Happy for everyone who’s getting a good dump (so to speak...)

I’m getting more confident it may actually reach us now, and actually hang around for a few hours.

With that east wind it should push the ppn intensity west as the front shears.

Fingers crossed we wake to at least a covering :!

That Fax Chart as posted by Knocker is a thing of beauty, what a rare opportunity this has turned into for some of us. A good few inches in selected prone spots overnight and into tomorrow, a day of intermittent snow continuing for some parts then as well.

Note the two surface lows and frontal features, one or two of which were unexpected I believe.

Fax Chart post by Knocker

@knocker what is your take for the rest of the evening?

To be honest I haven't been paying close attention for the last couple of hours so from a snow angle pretty much the output I posted in the MOD thread/. Although of course that little wave may help  your location

The road here looks quite wet, not much setting on it but I'm sure I'll see at least a thin layer right? (here's me begging for the day off)

Also I predicted yesterday we'd reach 200 pages by Friday morning, maybe 11pm at this rate

Eased right off here.

Genuinely, if that’s it for the winter for Weymouth, I’ll finish winter 18/19 a happy chappy. We can go many winters in a row without close to that much.

Get the feeling though, it’s not over yet...

After a few flurries it has stopped absolutely dry as a bone here yet apparently under ppn on radar.

Hi Chris yes I have noticed that

stopped here now yet under orange on radar ? That can't be because of drying out ? Unless because of developing occlusion over Somerset bath n/e

Did u have rain 1st like us? Do we know how longer we have this??

Started as rain by the coast though I've had all snow since 5.30 at home 4 miles inland.

I can't really work out how much more there is to come - the radar hasn't really matched reality most of this evening!

It’s snowing now after couple hours heavy rain but the ground is too wet and the snow is a very wet snow

Keep the faith. That's what happened here and it's settling nicely now and still snowing.

I didn't actually worry when it apparently wasn't going to happen not sure if its because I been meditating a lot lately or what, normally I'd be fuming but in the end it's turned out fine anyway

It’s taken a lot of folk in Cornwall and Devon by surprise today, several centimetres falling leaving people stranded. I think the impact for parts of the South West was very much underestimated today.

A great day for snow lovers across Southern England today - and all this without embedded cold air

My met office app has a lot of heavy snow forecast overnight but I’m sure I e read somewhere not to trust it - is that correct? The radar looks like the snow will have passed by 10 and we’ve only had a dusting (just outside Salisbury).

Our dusting is improving, even though the radar looks bobbins.

No idea what's going on.

Yeah, still coming down here. Everything pretty much covered except the road
