A few flurries so far but nothing substantial yet. The lighter seems to be drying up before reaching lower levels. Have seen a few cars come by with some snow on though.

It’s a bit meh here in dorset, only a dusting so far and radar not looking too hopeful either.

Wasn't expecting that much in south Oxfordshire initially, and we've had nothing yet, but the heavier precipitation to the south does look now to edging north in Central Southern England, albeit glacially.  But that doesn't matter as we've got all night!

ICON-EU 15z still offerering a reasonable amount of snow here overnight, 6 cm if we're lucky?

Well it's all kicking off here, must've had, oooh, 100 flakes now

Just not quite enough northward push for my locale. C'monnn!

Yes spotlight suggesting they are cornwall bound plus on saturday when the wind swings to a northerly looks like the Pembroke dangler will be in operation. Somewhere in Cornwall will get a load a snow off that.

Do you mean something for saturday?

Yeah let's hope we get some extra tasty snow

It’s a shame the radar is broken here. Can’t see when the next batch is moving up I’ve been just getting a general idea from people like @matt111 who aren’t that far away

It's soooo painful watching the radar, my little red blob indicating my house is inside a light patch of precip, while all around is darker, please please just snow ?

Everything seems to have ground to a halt in terms of progression of that snow. Latest MetO shows us in the firing line later tonight. Any idea why it's stalled like this?

After it rained for most of the afternoon I was starting to give up on the prospect of any snow, then at about 4.30pm it started. Lovely big fat chunks of snow, within half hour there was these pictures, an hour later there must of been a good couple of inches. Beautiful!

Blimey. Just taken a nice long soak in the bath, expected to come out to see the same sleety mix and it’s heavy snow and settling out there. Splendid.

I didn't think it was going to happen ❄️?️

my two penneth as I posted on other social media.....

little pockets of snow are developing, but having run the zoomed radar loop, these pockets fire up over south/SE facing hills....as soon as ppn moves over said facing hills it disappears....good example of orographic ppn, and explains why ppn simply doesn't reach me (I'm on a WNW facing escarpment)

I believe that's what's happening but I stand to be corrected

Waiting for a 10 minute burst of heavy snow which is on the radar. Just hoping the Met Office are right for the rest of the night.

Very underwhelming so far here just east of Bristol, glad others are getting in on the act though.

Proper big flakes now and some very strong winds, it’s all still pushing north
