In heavier bursts it snows and then straight back to rain. This is frustrating !

Good sign in my opinion. Colder air is starting to mix in at your location!

Those reporting no precipitation despite it being over them on the radar. It’s probably due to dry air being pulled in from the SE so evaporating it before it reaches the ground.

It happens often with rain all year round but of course very few of us take notice then!!!!!

A good thing as it’s lowering dew point and drying the ground.

Dont lose hope. If cornwall can then so can we. I'm Parkstone as well

I wasn't expecting much being so close to the coast. It's so hard to get snow here but in the summer there's no better place. Swings and roundabouts lol

Hi Andy you are absolutely spot on

I was talking to someone earlier and saying look that's really weird these clouds are coming across from the south-east and the wind is coming that way and the main bulk of cloud is coming from south west so the cold is undercutting and like you said it's preventing moisture reaching the ground  at the moment .

Indeed, for now intensity is bring down the air temperatures, but sadly evaporative cooling is minimal today due to the Strong winds. You'll need a Easterly for full snow, appears from reports in East Devon, that its not too far away.

The cold air is undercutting steadily from the north due to the minor trough ahead of the main system.  This is excellent news.  In Exmouth we were 6c at 1500, 5c at 1600 and 2c now at 1640 and the rain has turned to sleet.  Charts below.  Note that the NW France view is 1 hour ahead of us.
