The PPN is weakening very quickly now! across the far SW

That's a rendering issue. It will fix itself within the next few updates.

Incredible! Right at sea level too.

That is a couple of miles north of me. The temp must have dropped 5C or so. I can now see the clearance behind the front to the west

I'm liking the intensity and solidarity of the band though.  As things stand, no sign of a split in the PPN developing, with a good intensity of PPN for pretty much all our region.  Let's hope it stays like this.

Yes AWD good solid band with a notable northward push developing

To save sudden mood swings - the radar images are often seriously glitchy these days with different radar sites measuring different intensities. It can be hard to know what the true picture is sometimes! The one on Dean Hill (just east of Salisbury) is particularly bad and it appears one somewhere in Devon is acting up a bit currently, hence the sudden step-down in precipitation rates.

Is that official information from the METO?

It's not, but I've been watching these for a very long time and have no doubt that it's going on. I find it abysmal that they've done nothing about the Dean Hill site for over a year now.

It is just a radar glitch, it cannot possibly weaken that quickly.

Looking at it again it just looks very glitchy around Devon.

The pivot doesn't actually look to bad hopefully it can hold its intensity as it hits land

Checking the latest radar vs models ... only the ECM had the track of the front right so far. All the others - miles off, even my trusty ARPEGE!!

ECM had the front Weymouth - Minehead at 4pm, then just short of Bristol to The Needles by 5pm, Bristol to Brighton by 6pm, and then most the area south of the M4 by 7pm where it starts to stall out.
