If MetO were to update their warnings again today what sort of time would they do that? I’ve onlt ever noticed them doing updates between roughly 10-11am but see on other threads people are mentioning the expect the amber warning to get further extended. I don’t think I’ve ever noticed it change later in the day before

I really really don’t want this snow. I’m being so selfish and normally I love the stuff but I have to travel and I need the kids to be at school tomorrow

It has really slowed, and is starting to pivot, which I'd suggest is a good thing.

I've been watching it come in and it's like it's stopped! Looking really black now towards Cox tor. Typically left my thick coat in my workshop that wind is biting!

They will change them as they see fit I think. If an extension is warranted they will do it regardless of Time of day as they need to notify the public.

Spotted a drop in dew points in the past hour back down to zero over the Channel and along the South Coast.

That'll be the low-level cold, dry air from the snow-laden N. France lending us a hand. In fact that downward forcing on the dew points could, alongside evaporative cooling, be a critical factor for the far south that keeps conditions the right side of marginal. Perhaps this is what's given the Met Office cause to depict snow even further south than the model consensus.

Dew points at 0 c , brilliant. Game on !!! Here its 1.4 c , so getting there !

Met raw data, (app) has light snow as early as 1pm right up here in Stroud. Also going for plenty of heavy ppn.

The HRLEM especially seems to keep the highest accumulation further south so good to see raw MET data still looking good for us further north.

Am curious, not sure if you or someone else will know the answer to this, but when it comes this kind of situation, what is the raw data that Met Office feed into forecast. I am just over the hill in Dursley and am closely watching how far north this snow is going to get.

If it shows this for here @karlos1983 then I’d say it looks very good for you. If you choose to take it seriously of course.

Using the Netweather snow radar app on my android device, doesn't cost a thing.

The Netweather App is not that great on Apple IMO and the home and dry app gives you forecast as well.  Perhaps I should get an Android phone!!! I am due an upgrade!!

Thanks Chris! Bit relieved to hear that after seeing some of the accumulation pictures here this morning. I note on the radar the whole lot is still moving NE, need that to happen until later. Been hedge cutting in Stroud this morning - amazing how the trees still have ice on them after a couple of hours of cloud and a breeze!
