Agreed with @Man With Beard, even if under the darkest green colours on the Netweather radar scale; in an hour period that equates to 1cm/hr of snowfall. If under the yellow for an hour that equates to 4cm/hr of snowfall.

This is because rainfall to snowfall ratio is 1:10.

Do u think we’ll get any?? Met o showing us as heavy rain all evening

I would think that at least St Catherines Down, Bonniface and the central ridge all have a decent chance?

These warnings are confusing, Cardiff in the amber but when you go on the forecast for Cardiff there's no warning.

Cardiff is in the yellow warning area (as shown in the Cardiff forecast) - amber warning if for the higher ground of the Valleys, further inland and north of Cardiff (as well as for parts of SW England)

With the Amber Alert on the northern edge of the IOW , we would be very unlucky if not!!

Close call IMO. The surface wind tonight looks a pure easterly, so a very long sea track for you. Just a nudge to an ENE would do the trick for most of the Island. Maybe chances increase as the night goes on, particularly on ARPEGE where they keep it going until tomorrow morning.

What app is this from Bobafet?

Home and dry on Apple - they have a rainfall and snow app - you have to pay £1.99 I think? They are really good apps and worth the money.

Hope so, its all looking a bit marginal for us IOW people (IMO), but I've been wrong more times than I've been wright . Fingers crossed.

Yes I think we will get some snow, it will be hitting at just the right time, maybe a bit more marginal for you in Shanklin though.

Shanklin

When the heaviest PPN arrives I wouldn't be surprised to see it start to turn and we are still seeing southerly corrections on the day!

That gap over north wilts though

That's Trowbridge.  Nothing ever wants to go to Trowbridge.

Met raw data, (app) has light snow as early as 1pm right up here in Stroud. Also going for plenty of heavy ppn.

The HRLEM especially seems to keep the highest accumulation further south so good to see raw MET data still looking good for us further north.

Using the Netweather snow radar app on my android device, doesn't cost a thing.

The front still teasing the approaches. Look at those colours though. Some heavy ppn tied up in there.

1.4 now and dew point -0.5, so rain a possibility as it arrives but hope it gets heavy enough to turn to snow!
