Looking like nip and tuck for Southampton tomorrow, that being said alex deacon was bullish about the chances of snow on the coast...exciting times seeing how it will pan out...

Ian's forecast didn't look to bad even if you do get sleet through the day it looks to turn to all snow by the evening

Did show a gap in mid Somerset but hopefully that will change.

If a gap forms I'll drive to Wiltshire an stay with gf

My worry is the warmth of the English Channel sea temps are still warm. My worry will be rain and then if we do get some snow it wont settle....all to play for it will be marginal for us in southampton. Depends how far north the system moves.

After (another) day of cold rain yesterday the overnight showers from the North West gave a covering  here but cut off point was 300m. Hoping for better tomorrow and not more of yesterday and the dew point does not torpedo the situation. Currently -1.8c dewpoint -2.2c

I'm a nervous wreck... Waiting for a magic hole to appear in front or for something to go pear shaped

That's exactly how I'm feeling. It's looking a little bit border line. If we don't get much/any here, I think I might cry, or be a right miserable old baggage, snapping people's heads off.

I've probably already done people's head in talking about the snow in work lol. They need warning though.

I haven’t even mentioned it.. I’m not in tomorrow or Friday. Not my problem ??‍♀️

I think if lots of our forecasts come off, we'll be looking at quite a bit more than 2-5cm!

Edit: I told two people, one agreed and it said it should be 'amazing' and the other laughed. I thought to myself "Let's see who's laughing tomorrow evening then shall we?"

But what if it doesn't happen? You will become a social pariah. Or something.

I'm already off work Friday so will feel cheated if everybody else gets a free paid day off due to snow. Still beggars can't be choosers, could be our best/only shot of the winter.

Jeez, can’t shut him now

the genies ?‍♀️ out of the bottle now !! I’m looking forward to the ‘orange glow’ early hours Friday morning, you know the one where there’s snow on the ground and it’s all reflective. Actually scrub that, 2 issues there. One the street lights have been changed to that soft white colour now and 2 - the council turns them off at night to save money ❄️
