Hello btw everyone, I’ve lurked and loved Netweather for what seems like ever, but never had the courage to post probably because I’ve always spent my time in the Mad thread and even though I’m in my 50’s now quite frankly I’m scared to post in there it’s scary you lot in here seem much nicer. Anyhow here I am I’ve taken the plunge.

Welcome, young man! This really is the nicest place to be! No courage needed....just be yourself.

Pah - Don't bother with ITV, give Ian F a watch in a few mins.

I didnt used to bother with local ITV but their forecast is from Meto. BBC is from Meteogroup which is often pants.

This ‘event’ is now in the realms of nowcasting!

24 hours out and the models have the best data they are going to get.

From here on in it’ll be a case of watching the radar (and a sneaky peak at EURO 4)  to decipher how this front will engage with the cold air.  North-south/ heavy or light.

should be a good day tomorrow for many.

looking forward to watching how this pans out

This will put a smile on everyone’s faces.

Am I seeing a difference with these two video forecasts that have just been released by the BBC and METO, or I am seeing them wrongly!!

I realise they use different weather models, but were only 18 hours!! Is it their graphics that make it look different?

Hi guys and gals, I’m such a snow geek and am really hoping the snow makes it to the north of our area. I have tomorrow off work, so will definitely be sat with a cuppa watching the radar and refreshing this forum to see who’s been lucky

I'm confident that the front won't lose too much intensity as it enters Southern England, it will be continually drawing moisture from the channel and even as the front passes through (if it does) I will expect some showers in behind.

They are a bit different! I’m on the side of the Metoffice forecast rather than the BBC.

Moving away from away from the snow for a moment, it’s already down to 0.7°C here so I bet it’s already well below freezing in places.

Lovely crack of rain breaking right up through Bristol channel the Severn estuary/valley. Bleurghhh

It'll just have to be a case of now-casting and see what happens!
