Not much good now after the event but if you ever find yourself in a similar dilemma again, me and my trusty old Landy are in the Mendips - just send me a message on here, happy to ferry folk about.

Trying to quote you and respond, Jethro, hope it works! Thank you so much for that very kind offer of help...I am actually emotionally moved by it....soppy old thing that I am! Bless you.

Well - I'm out NE in Winterbourne, so maybe we got less but compared to this, which pretty much came off as depicted, it wasn't particularly memorable:

Wow you must have been really unlucky mate. I’m in Frampton Cotterell and it was superb I guess it’s down to personal perception at the end of the day though ain’t it ❄️? here’s to tomorrow’s effort for us anyhow.

I can’t believe the difference in temperature across Somerset. 2c when I left Wells, 0c across the levels and 4c now here in Bridgwater.

Anyway amongst the doom and gloom of will it won't it Pompey is awaiting it's very much a likely event.

Now looking ahead perhaps a strong indication due to the southerly track of depressions there's likely a form of northern blocking somewhere in our northern latitude.

Will it be Greenland Iceland or Scandinavia it's very possible Iceland Scandinavian wedge of heights.

Don't panic if heights are not of 1050mb because that's not needed but even a mediocre wedge of heights can do the business.

Enjoy fellow southerners the Costa del south coast finally closed for business during the wintry chaos.

This will put a smile on everyone’s faces.

Just watched it and the whole of South Hampshire and the Isle of Wight has disappeared. That forecast has Gosport firmly under snow yet the website forecast shows sleet. I hope we get an upgrade.

Hello btw everyone, I’ve lurked and loved Netweather for what seems like ever, but never had the courage to post probably because I’ve always spent my time in the Mad thread and even though I’m in my 50’s now quite frankly I’m scared to post in there it’s scary you lot in here seem much nicer. Anyhow here I am I’ve taken the plunge.

We're all friendly in here. Best regional thread I think

LOL - I think my memory must be shot, I now remember we had to drive to St Ives a day late! However, the roads the following day seemed fine so I guess it wasn't particularly long-lasting so that's why it's not jogging my memory too much.

(as well as escaping it down to Knocker country which was much milder)

Thought the BBC forecast looked a bit dodgy, rain in the afternoon turning to snow early evening. Bit knife edge to me. High ground and away from the coast should be all snow.
