Going forward, GFS 12z synopticly is one to watch, the MET longer range forecast keeps banging on about "north easterly winds" or "Easterly winds".

The GFS 144 shows that isn't impossible! Developing UK ridge....Arctic high moving west.....

NW Radar has had me on [green] sleet (with [red] snow) for 45 minutes, sadly no show, just rain, rain and more rain. (Slight tone to this in hope that it does change)

Location: Highworth, Swindon

EDIT (16:42)
I think I can see a slight flake amongst the rain, that or my eyes are playing up today.

EDIT (16:49)
It's been transitioning over the past few minutes from rain to sleet and then now to snow. And yeah, we have snow falling.

Currently on campus at the moment and the first few specs of rain are falling though much seems to be evaporating before reaching the ground. Current temperature of 5.1'c and a dew-point of 2.3'c which has bizarrely gone up in the past hour. Though sun is setting now so fingers crossed.

Never thought I'd see Yate and sweet spot in the same sentence.

Hope you're right mate.

Yate was the sweet spot when we had that streamer in 2010? Might of been 2009, for some reason Thursday is kinda reminding me a bit of the February 2009 snowfall, although won't be as much

Funny because I was going to ask earlier if anybody remembers when we last had a Bristol Channel streamer. My memory is trash but I remember February 2009 very well.

You still can unless you're on mobile?

Yes thats right. 90% probably view on mobile these days, i know i normally do, just happen to be on PC today as have been doing tax returns lol.

But that is an issue the team should try to resolve if at all possible, otherwise you have to actually visit someones account page to see where they are (if they have added it to their profile)

edit - KATEMART just advised landscape mode shows the location like in PC mode, and it does.

I have some wet splats of snow coming down now. Temp finally beginning to tumble, with an increase in wind.

Just to give an overview of Thursday.  Obvs don't take the chart to literally as there is a lot of uncertainty regarding Thursday, just to show that this is far from being forecast as a "memorable" event, just a modest SW winter snowfall that will probably be gone by Friday lunchtime, if indeed it happens at all.  These are the accumulations we are looking at, varying either way depending on what model you use;

Some heavier showers edging in to Cornwall on radar - showing as snow.

Also large area of snow showers tracking across Ireland in our direction, south west forecast mentions frequent showers tonight.
