South West and Central Southern England Regional Weather Discussion 01/12/2018 Onwards

Oh yeah lol! The northerners have started to realise that Thursdays low is going to start trending southwards and make the south of the UK much more favourable for disruptive snow on Thursday. I've all but given up now on tomorrow tbh, might get a surprise though. Thursday is definitely  starting to interest me

I'm no expert but from what I can tell Thursday is looking far more promising for widespread heavy snow for this area, although that's not to say a few surprises are not out of the question still tomorrow.

For the first time since posting on here, I dont want snow at the end of the week as I have to travel!! Going away Friday for the weekend.. it can do-one!!

It hits the mendips early too so I have my doubts for settling snow..  

We could easily get to Saturday and not get anything all week. Showers after Wednesday am... Oh wait welch mountain will sort them out.. 

Just had a argument with other half over tmoro... She lives in Bradford on avon and I said I might stay on Mendip.. 

She is further east but I'm not sure..

Travelling on M5 up to Brum airport early afternoon on Thurs, stay overnight in airport hotel, then flying early Friday morn to Mexico. Hoping Thursday goes belly up to be blunt, but area of Glos to Brum looks like a sweetspot for Thursday.

Please implode! 

But selfishly, hoping for NE/Easterlies and snow for mid-Feb.

That's at odds with Ian's charts on Points West which showed snow falling widely from around 16.00 and I would expect it to settle once the temperature drops which will be a three fold occurrence due to evaporative cooling, nightfall and cold air undercutting.

I can't help but feel timing isn't doing us many favours temperature wise because at present Thursday's precip is forecast to arrive around midday/early afternoon too on the Net Weather predictions.

Storm Emma fell as snow until it turned to freezing rain which means it obviously means it can snow with -3 uppers or higher! Just need the right setup thats all.

I hope nobody comes in here and heres how pleased we are that the ICONs take on Thursday is now about Worcester southwards! 

Edit: Wait a minute, all 20 ensembles are giving me snow tomorrow evening? (albeit 3 of them are measly!)
