I'd say you are best placed in the West of the region where you are fromey, for this to be notably widespread event then we need deep cold in place, anything less is very knife edge, inland and further north and east will always be favoured more.

Absolutely, it will be knife edge stuff, my main concern is it raining before and if we dont get any snow is the rain then freezing which i think is an even bigger threat than the snow a present

That’s my concern we end up with rain/wet snow in the evening and it freezes over. One thing you can be sure of, if we don’t get a yellow warning for snow, we’ll definitely get one for ice.

We'd be very unlucky to not get some decent falls this week with what's on offer, but hey ho - it is winter 18/19 after all so knowing our luck...

When we get snow it rarely comes from any direction other than east. Ne or se. I think we will miss out down here but hopefully won’t need to drive more than 45 mins to see some.

You could probably find some in the New Forest or Cranborne Chase if there's none where you are.

Some wintry precipitation also around Wednesday evening to top it off.

Thursday still nothing south of the M4 but I’m hopeful it’ll correct south some way00B9AA76-7B34-40CD-96A7-32C5665A8953.thumb.png.d12530c4ce93c409ec6f14903f03a069.png

Yes not bad and it shows snow on black down hills which have only modest elevation so bodes well maybe further east as night draws on.

Mondays runs will be nerve racking.

Need your Angwin avatar back NK, it might usher in some luck.

Haha I might have to have a look for it. It is saved on pc somewhere which is fluke because no longer find it online.

Whats your take on this Tuesday event mapantz? Delay in front arriving may be a good thing if its a new trend?

It's so volatile that truth be told, I haven't really looked at much apart from precip-charts. I know they're a bit of a waste of time, but it has just been a quick way to get a bit of an idea.

I actually think that high ground areas in our region might get a little surprise. I have noted many times when you have reported snow and didn't think you would be in with a shout. It shows how elevation is a significant player.

That's the final frame of the NetWx hi res model - the 12Z.

18Z will be available shortly.

And just like that..
