Nonetheless, it is currently 9.8°C after a high of 10.1°C today

It's a shame it's so far out, but the FV3 shows so many waves coming in from the Northerly direction which would produce snow showers and longer spells of snow for most, if not all of the British Isles. Wonderful looking charts!

Does that include these bitz down 'ere on the sarf coast, where it has usually fizzled by the time it reaches 'ere...:wallbash:

Does this suggest the SSW (Snow South of Winchester) might happen? :help:

3c and cloudy is dreadful because you are thinking how sunny and crisp it could've been if the high wasn't cloudy like all of this week.

Yes, give me sunny/frosty 6c max and -3c min any day over, say, cloudy 5c/4c or 8c/7c.

Ha it does look like it but no it's not. I think my mum took the picture in 2010 back when I used to live near Winchester.

This is what it usually looks like. I prefer the snowy version. ⛄

I do miss where I used to live as I had a view across a field which always looked nice when it snowed, was also good for storms.

One of the first pictures I posted on this site was of that view. Although the trees being in full leaf got in the way a bit but in the winter that wasn't a problem.

Apart from the BFTE I remember we had a light dusting on the December 27 2017; but apparently we had some on Jan 16 2018 too! Found this on camera roll. This was a few weeks before I joined the forum officially so not sure if anyone else had any either!

Yes we got snow on that date but didn't settle at all. The one just after Christmas in 2017, I was in Oxford at the time so there was 2 or 3 centimetres that lasted for 2 days but apparently back in Bath it only settled on the hills. We came back actually on the 29th of December and the was lots of snow up on Lansdown Hill on the way down from the motorway!

Oxford snow near Christmas 2017:

I must've missed out in 2017 as I haven't got any pictures of snow at all then.

In fact the last picture of snow I can find before 2018 was this taken in Feb 2015, again before I moved.

This is the closest I could find between then and 2018 but that's hail not snow. taken on 14th Dec 2017

Man this sums up why we all love snow so much. Brilliant video.

Also, nice to see things are looking positive in the MOD thread... I hope this is the big one. :cold:

Before December, the last snow I remember is a day in early Feb 2015; and then the spell around Jan 18 in 2013!

Same, certainly where I was the Feb 2015 event wasn't anything special as it had melted by lunchtime but the 2013 one was better. The following couple of winters after 2015 were awful snow wise with nothing really to speak of at all. If it wasn't for that snow in early 2015 that winter would've been equally as bad.
