The only redeeming feature of today is that the cloud is so low that half my area may as well be foggy, which is sort of atmospheric.

I’d rather have fog than slate grey skies all day.

This is the ONLY time I'm pleased to see the M4 is the dividing line between the cr@p and the dry. You can keep although I do know deep down we will get it later tonight...the cr@p weather that is..Kinda hoping the heavier rain doesn't make it this far south as my son has a leaking roof, so heavy rain right now is not welcomed..

Agreed! Makes dull weather that bit more interesting.

Yes they’re welcome to keep it. Not that things have really dried out today but it’s been nice to have a weekend of dry days even if it was wet overnight.

It definitely didn't stay north of the M4 as it's raining heavily here now. 12.6mm so far today.

124.4mm for the month now making it the wettest month I've recorded. Still raining at the moment although not as heavy as it was. Up to 14.0mm for today.

As @Mapantz said there was quite a drop in temperature earlier. 11.7°C to 8.8°C in less than an hour. 8.2°C now.

Is that an overnight temperature under 10°C!

We had a further 1mm of rain late evening after that 7mm yesterday early morning. A high of 13c midday.
Just after 9pm the wind moved from SSW to NE and the temp quickly dropped.

8c at midnight and a low of 6.9c at 5:30am.
Now its 7.1c, 1029.8 hPa, wind light NE

A dry and chilly week on the cards it looks like, no chance anywhere of a White Christmas
Happy Christmas to all in South West and Central Southern England

So it is raining fairly heavily (drizzle for Devon and Cornwall my a*se) and the pressure is 1033mb. Quite an unusual occurrence I must say!

BREAKING: The suns out

Doubt it’ll last long since the sky hasn’t cleared at all.

Overcast here with spots of rain from time to time. Temp 8.3°C.

December has been one of the mildest ever here. Currently running 3.3°C above the Met Office derived average for here. Over 2°C warmer than 2017 and 2016. Just 45 hours of sunshine, and 188.2mm of rain.

Feels a bit closer to something resembling seasonal at the moment, currently 7.8°C. Unfortunately it looks milder again tomorrow.

Merry Christmas everyone.

This afternoon had this funny glowing thing in the sky and everything was lit up, I don't think it was a star over a stable :ball-santa-emoji:

Well it's here again, that big day

When we dream of ice and snow to play

The fun, the games, no shop can sell

Of sledging and skating on snow that fell

Santa will you come, make dreams come true?

Give us snow to play 'til our fingers turn blue

We've been good, I promise, no naughty deeds

So just for once, will you fulfil our needs?

Of snow so deep and crisp and white,

When we open our curtains, oh what a sight!

Why this obsession, with white fluffy flakes?

Why the dreams of snow when all awakes?

It's a time for peace, goodwill to all men

A time to remember when we were ten

We want magic and joy, free to have fun

Of rain, mist and fog, we want none

It's Christmas Santa, your time to shine

We want to believe so give us a sign

That you listen and care, want dreams to come true

I've asked time and again, I'm sure that you knew

That all we want, all that we need

Is for you to be kind, just this one deed

We know it's too cold for rain up above

And every flake is an Angel's kiss of love

So at this time of year, surely you must

Defy all the odds, prove the models are bust

And grant us our wishes, make dreams come true

Give us snow to play, 'til our fingers turn blue

Merry Christmas my fellow snow freaks, hope you all have a good one.
