Snow Risk Abbreviations

Hi. Newbie question. What does ‘ht:SL’ refer to in the snow risk tables?

Hi, it refers to the height that snow is likely to fall to, should it snow. SL is sea level, it may also show a number in metres.

Thanks Paul. I live in the Midlands (UK) around 130m above sea level and I see for next week “70% ht:SL” in the ‘Snow Forecast’ box. In the ‘Precipitation’ box above it says 0.687mm. I’m still a bit confused about the ‘ht:SL’ bit ... does this still refer to my local area?

It's a local forecast, so will be showing the forecast for whichever location you've put into the search box at the top
