Jo wrote an article here about it, and will be writing an update later this and the following week:

It's gotten really cold up there now. Lycksele saw a -22°C high today or thereabouts, while coastal non-Lapland towns were around -15°C. Needless to say the snow there reliably lasts for more than three months, unlike here south of Stockholm, when it hardly takes hold all winter long.

It doesn't look like it's melting in Kiruna anytime soon, however. Usually cold waves in Northern Sweden are very momentum-based and last quite long. December is also cold enough for low-pressure systems to very rarely bring anything other than snow too.

There was enough snow, for the activities. Weekend forecast just looks dry and cold

Not Lapland but southern Finland. https://www2.helsinki.fi/en/research-stations/hyytiala-forestry-field-station

Anomalously deep April cyclone has just arrived in Finland. The lowest measured sea level pressure so far is 964.5 hPa (Inkoo Bågaskär). Heavy snowfall in southern Finland.  Apr 5 "Pirkanmaa region is in the core of the April snowstorm, with heavy and continuous snowfall since yesterday."

"A snowpack depth of 90 cm, which is a new daily record and not far from the April record. 41 cm snow falling in two days was clearly a record-breaking event for April, but not quite if considering all months. " Then tweet above on 6th

A bit of snow to start the week for Lapland but now a quiet few days. Temperatures are just below freezing by day.

I hope the Elves manage to commute to Santa's factory still.

I think the two at the front are elves, I'm not so sure about the rest of them...
