How many articles are there proclaiming a Beast from the East this week? Too many, it's just a cold easterly wind.

Some of the stories even contradict themselves with the links they include within the article. The title of the article would claim that the beast from the east will arrive this week. Then the link they include from the met office would be a forecast from the met office saying no beast this time Journalism is in a sorry state lol

Fully agree it’s the crying wolf stories that ditract away from when the real beast arrives , I remember last year jumping up and down telling my boss that there was impending carnage from the snow and it wasn’t until it happened that they tried to put contingency plans in place but it was too late . Some customers in fact have never returned to my store because of the dispruption which lasted long after the weather cleared up. It also made my enjoyment of snow less so which is a Shame .

It’s a shame they do this as some really believe it and it causes unnecessary panic and as mentioned, means people stop taking notice when there’s actually something worth taking notice of.
