I remember about 4 years ago when I was at mammoth  

lakes smoke from kings canyon forest fires was drifting over giving a feel of a winters day even though it was August, the taste and smell at times made me  feel ill

some of the videos from people trying to get away in the dark and the disorientating smoke are so terrifying
