Chucking it down here, looks like snow but when you go out you just get wet, just rain.

Pity, we have our ENEly now setting up shop by the looks of it and lots of showers moving in from the Thames Estuary and East Anglia....But its only mid November of course...aghhhhhhhh

Colder air definitely on route..

Look at the amount of heavier showers moving in..

Won't ever be asked.

Not to worry. It's dark and chilly and my baby is one of the first in her year to get her pen licence, meaning she has progressed to be able to use ink over a pencil.

Now that's a thing to be proud of.

Yep that next band looks thundery, heading straight this way, might be some hail there or even graupal.:oldgood:

Anyone notice the GFS(p) 12z thats just coming out, showing even more wintry PPN for tomorrow.

I have been taught that it's based on model data so its not actually live so to speak, I use a very very handy tool :

http://uksnowmap.com

Live posts from twitter users and you can use a scale 1/10 of how heavy it is..

Also people post up some really nice photos and sometimes some good weather knowledge is posted on up and coming snow events..

Handy..

Steve.. Where are you lol?  we need your comments I've only looked at the arome and hirlam at lunch which showed sod all..

I think they always show "falling snow" as it settling 100% which never happens..

That aside, fantastic charts to be looking at in autumn.. Yes it's still not winter yet...

That record breaking summer is a distant memory now..

That's very kind of you L23, but there are more prominent persons more deserving than moi. By a long shot.

It's going to snow tomorrow where I have my house in NW Italy at 600m asl, but thats been downgraded a lot today from about 30cm to under 10cm, funny old place, often misses out on the really heavy stuff but still good fun to get 30com-50cm of snow falling over night from time to time. Got the good old wood burners over there, lovely stuff.

There's an old barn that I wanted to covert in a great position and good views, big openings to put in large glass windows and watch the snow come down while the fire is roaring, problem is that the property market is pretty well bust around there so the money you would have to spend you would never get back if you had to sell up.

Pity we didn't get this current easterly in 2 or 3 weeks time, probably would have been mainly snow just in time for Christmas too.

Did you know Italy holds the 24 hour snow record!! -

temps here sliding away - 4.7c heavy rain

Dewpoint ~2c

Only wintryness is hail ATM

Trust me, you really don't want to go through the initiation ceremony

Icy rain here. Definite chunks of ice in it but not full hail.

Radar is showing that some off the ppn could be turning wintry... Is this the first snow of the 2018/19 Winter?

Can anyone confirm?

EDIT: Forgot to say... Hi all! Hope everyone is well?

Did it include sticky backed plastic and a fairy liquid washing up bottle?
