No explain mate can’t access a radar at all tomight

have we been in a hollow spot for most of the night @yamkin

There is a possibility that the N/NE ppn will feed into the current pivoting ppn which could ignite the system even more. There seems to be a lot of energy between the two systems...................This is very interesting.

Sorry about my small rant , back in Chessington now , moderate snow here and it’s starting to settle , why on earth do I put myself through this?.

Edit - notice how someone has already made a snowball off the car .

You know what makes me laugh is that this could have been a major event if lower dps and a notch down on the temp come then this would be big big news, However slushy snow fest atm..

Heavy sleet continues in Horley. Settling snow in Dorking, Chessington, Croydon, Merstham, Brighton. Coulsdon. Go figure. Are we closer to the sun here?!

He’s home thank goodness :yahoo:but I still feel very aware of the people who are stuck.

Its snowing very hard here, it’s not laying at all, I think all the rain we’ve had has helped stop that, it’s settling on cars and roofs though.  Does anyone happen to have the dew point for Rye, I can’t seem to find a accurate one or an accurate temperature. What do I need to do to get the snow to lay???

Yep. You guessed it, pure rain in Norwich again, at 1c! Think I may go to bed, because this event is doing nothing for me.

Pretty sickening to see London getting snow and us pure rain.

This point about the NE side feeding in is a very interesting one. Seems like this precipitation over me and south London, while sinking south, is keeping its northern edge roughly in the same place...

or maybe it’s my amateurish radar observations....

Nope pure rain. If there was some sleet mixed in with it, i'd remain faithful but there's not.

I think the truth is that Norwich is poorly located for snowfall.

1. Not far from the coast.

2. Juts out past the rest of Britain.

3. Surrounded by sea to the North and East.

4. Flat land and no geographical barriers at the coast to reduce the affects of winds coming in from the North Sea.

I think a better location in East Anglia would probably be around Northern Essex. Despite being further south, the land is elevated and it is not located near the coast, so reduced marginal conditions.
