Radar appears to be moving this awfully slowly... I agree with this not being gone by midnight, I reckon here in Bromley I’m just tapping into the heaviest stuff. Could be on for a decent covering if this continues for an hour or more

Ok, I have spent the last few hours on the phone to my husband who was in his way to work. He has had to turn around and come home, he said the roads are in a complete mess, even major roads. The A21 is shut and there are people and cars all over the place in ditches. My husband doesn’t scare at much he’s a paratrooper so I know it’s pretty bad out there.  Did the forecasters not know this was coming????

I don’t care about the snow now, all i want is my husband home safe.

Sorry to hear about this Donna. The A21 out of Hastings is a nightmare for the the first 20 miles or so at the best of times, let alone in this weather. Hope everyones ok.

The snow is now easing off a bit in the Hastings area, but if it freezes overnight conditions will be tricky in the morning.

Seems to be re-generating along the coast here again looking at the latest radar returns, with a westward movement! As the main snow band edges toward us from the North

Just for the sake of consistency, it’s still p1ssing down with rain in Horley five miles away. Is Horley actually below sea level?!

Sounds like if it isn't now it will be soon!

Worth noting that there is a suggestion parts of Cambs / Herts (especially over the hills there i.e. Stevenage-Stansted etc) could get a couple of cm from the showers feeding down from the north tonight. Perhaps 1-2cm locally in Norfolk/Suffolk on Saturday evening from North Sea showers too, but not expecting anything particularly widespread or disruptive.

1-2cm is always better than nothing. Last question... When's the next beast from the east arriving

Don’t think it was to do with the temps mate @D.V.R

we were just unlucky to be in a hollow spot

snowing now and settled immediately

hope this continues to be honest

Have you noticed the ppn just to the N/NE of the current pivoting ppn? This N/NE ppn seems to be feeding into the current pivoting ppn

Heaviest snow of night now here in locksbottom.probably about 1cm and intensity an 8/10 on murrscale.looking at radar reckon got ano5her 30 mins hopefully of this intensity maybe a little longer as radar does seem to be moving this system very slowly.

Not much snow for 7 hours of continuous snow fall

Snow depth really depends on how tall you are... If you're a midget then it's really is epic.... If you're 10ft tall then I guess it's looking meagre... All a matter of perception... In any case it's been an epic evening...
